If I had known that Amazon Prime was easy to cancel, I would have signed up and then canceled later in the week. Oh well, you should buy it before the deadline for overnight shipping so you can have it tomorrow without having to wait. :D

That's what I'm thinking... It makes the extra $50 worth it. Even if a C2D shows up in the refurb store tomorrow, it might be 5-7 days before it ships and then a couple more until it arrives. But then again, I'm a very indecisive buyer so even if a MacBook did come tomorrow, it might be a few days before it gets opened.

I ordered my Blackbook from Amazon in December...I am very happy with it...:)

I'm assuming you haven't gotten your rebate back yet.

I do have a question though, do you remember when you ordered it? (specific date) and if so, what is the serial number? Just curious if I'll be receiving an old Blackbook (build '06 week 5x or build '07 week 0x).

About to place the order... Are there any promo codes I should know about? It also turns out one-day shipping is $1.99 with Amazon Prime instead of $3.99.

I wish I would have signed up for prime

My order should be here tomorrow. I ordered BSE for the hand rest and touch pad as well as a mini DVI to DVI, both came in already!

I'll be going to work really early and leaving really early! :D

Any suggestions on what to do when I get it?

I plan on starting it up and playing with it a bit, then I might format the disk and do a fresh install with the stuff I want, then I'll install boot camp and install XP SP2 on it.

Black Macbook

I just got mine today in the mail. It's so freaking beautiful! I had it sent to work and all my co-workers (mostly non-apple laptop owners) were all over my macbook. I ordered mine from Amazon as they were the only ones with a $100 rebate plus no tax or shipping. I'm amazed to see people buying it on ebay paying more than the actual retail price!! Can anyone suggest what accessories to get to protect my new acquisition? I've seen so many different things and I'm confused. I'm mainly looking for a sleeve and keyboard protector. I've also seen data port protectors and hand rest protectors. Any advice?

Congrats! I'd recommend an invisible skin, preferably BestSkinsEver.com

I'd purchase a keyboard protector from eBay (I did for the blackbook) but for my white MB, I purchased from iSkin for $32 shipped. The eBay protector covered more area than the iSkin (keyboard + palm rest + clicker) for half the cost.

As far as sleeves...I don't have one cause I use a backpack (college). Oh and one more thing, get a clear screen protector from eBay too, costs about $15. It's a good investment and prevents fingerprints on the actual LCD when people try to touch your screen.

I am posting from my new blackbook c2d that I just got today. It's pretty sweet. The only thing that is taking a bit for me to get used to is the screen. It just feels a bit small. I know it's more perception than anything, but it's taking me a bit to adjust too. This thing flys, though. I'm impressed with the speed and build quality. I also really like the keyboard. Overall, it's a great machine.

I'm having the same problem with the screen as I own a 20 inch Imac but I have to say for traveling (portability) purposes it rocks. I watched a DVD on my new macbook and have no complaints.

Amazon Prime

We signed up for Amazon Prime and use it a ton. It is a great deal and sad to see people abuse it, I wonder how they would react to that sort of manipulation. It is available and vulnerable, I know. So is welfare and other services to take advantage of and let some other poor fool pay for it. I know I sound preachy but what ever happened to some level of fairness in both directions. It is like the "if you don't get caught, it must be OK" line of thinking. There is a big difference between smart shopping and taking advantage. Amazon may be huge but some human beings own it and worked very hard to build it and took some serious risks. It is a very well run company and having been in the retail business all my life, I know what I am talking about.

Prime is a very smart business model. It is a real value-added affinity program that works both ways. Discount the people that knowingly try it to work it, and you end up with a clientel that will look at Amazon first because they have addressed the most common complaint for online purcahses, shipping, both time and cost. We buy a lot from Amazon because of it.

The day of wait is the best ever. I love the anticipation. When they finally arrive it will be the best. The first day with a new computer is always fun!!!

OHHH, I jacked this up this week too :D

Did you unpack it? Then you THINK it's doing something (you know - something dumb like installing it), but I had to copy it to my Applications folder. Otherwise i had to mount it every time. It didn't do what i expected it to do at all!
