About shipping, does Apple usually ship on Sundays? I'm not familiar with their shipping standards, and I was just wondering. Just trying to get a heads up on when I can expect a delivery/start tracking my order because I'm so impatient, haha. A friend told me her MacBook shipped within 24 hours, but she ordered on a Thursday.

Well usually, the product leaves Apple's warehouse within 24 hours. This is for a standard config notebook. If you did anything special, then it might take a little bit longer. Since your mb looks pretty standard, I'd say that it should have left the day you ordered it. Depending on how far you live from the nearest warehouse, your order could arrive soon, or not so soon.
 
Well, I upgraded the RAM and hard drive and had iWork preinstalled. Is that going to hold back the shipping some?
 
Of course. :) I also used a $30 promo code the Apple Store sent me after making an account with them.

Yeah, that might add a day to your order. I'd keep checking. If it doesn't ship by Monday morning, give them a call. Sometimes businesses need some prodding.

I'm about to be a first time switcher too, hopefully I'll be ordering within the next couple of days. I'm getting the same model as you except with only the 1GB or RAM (Will be upgrading later with aftermarket stuff).

Post some impressions once you've taken the grand tour :)
 
I switched 3 years ago and am still using (and loving) the 12" Powerbook G4... still no major slowdowns or problems or anything! (by the way, prepare for a MASSIVE speed upgrade from your old system... the specs on it were pretty weak.) I think I want to upgrade to a mid-range Macbook though. this Powerbook has no problems at all but there's better tech. in a macbook i hear. (i just want to use the student promo deal but not sure how.)
 
I will definitely give my own review of my MacBook when it arrives. :)

I checked what the confirmation email said about the estimated shipping times. It says the iPod should be shipped by Monday and the MacBook by Tuesday. Sigh. I'm hoping for sooner!

And, Sam - to get the education discount you just need to go to the education store on Apple's website. Enter your school information and you're good to go. :)

lol waiting is part of the fun ;)

I don't think Apple ships anything on Sundays, but I'm not sure. Also, your laptop is going to be shipping from China, so remember they're like 14 hours ahead of us here in the states, so it's already Monday morning there.

I completely forgot about that! Hmmm... so this means I could have a status change tonight or early tomorrow morning maybe? Sorry if I sound retarded, haha.

I have no idea... they just sent it to me via email when I joined. There was an expiration date for it too.

Well... I got an email about my iPod being shipped, still waiting on the MacBook. :( Apple's order status page still says "not yet shipped" for the MacBook. Sigh.
 
I just ordered my first Mac today as well! I ordered the standard white 2.16 macbook/1gb/120gb, etc etc. I really wanted the Blackbook but I just couldnt splurge the extra $200 for the color. I also ordered CS3, cant wait! The guy at apple however told me CS3 can take 3-4 weeks to ship. Has anyone ordered it and it took that long?

Soon to be proud new mac owner!

Another question. Are MacBooks capable of handling any CS3?

Actualy I ordered mine yesterday... (Sunday) And I just recently checked and it says its prepared to ship... But I Purchased the overnight shipping...

I got the blackbook.. the shipping seems to be pretty fast to me..


I CANT WAIT LOL!!!

Why black? Do you have a black iPod? I think the WhiteBook is awesome. :)

They are both pretty cool! On the white its hard to see the apple symbol! Plus the black has a bigger HD.. thats pretty much it.. Nah I have a white 80 GB iPOd ..

Absolutely. Macbooks will run the CS3 suite flawlessly. :)
