iPhone X Just received my XS Max.. it’s going back

Having the phone on-hand helps makes a clear decision; and as someone mentioned, Apple should've had these phones on display before pre-orders.

You are not going to give it more than a day to get over your initial reactions? I pick mine up soon but from what I’ve seen, the camera is a pretty huge upgrade. Also there is the stereo video recording and better speakers, better waterproofing, faster LTE, and many other little things. For me on T-Mobile, it will be worth it getting Band 71 support alone. You have 14 days, I would use it for at least a week to see if it grows on you.

Your exactly right. May not be a huge upgrade for look and feel but under the hood it is pretty significant and i think day to day you will see that

Perhaps an in store pickup would have allowed you to make a more informed decision, without having to deny one to someone that wants it. I realize that you have to "buy" it first but the store would immediately do a refund if after looking at the demos you decided against it. It could go back into their stock unopened I would assume.

I’d like a bigger screen but for the money it’s a lot to pay just for the screen. Everything else to me is exactly the same, so I’ve decided I’ll send it back and hold out another year.

Any one else sending theirs back?

For the last couple of years, Samsung has their phones on display at Best Buy well before release. I was surprised because I handled the S9 and Note 9 well before the official carrier launch day.

I get your point, but from what we saw at the keynote and read afterwards, we already know that the bigger screen was the main difference. With that in mind I just skipped pre-ordering and saved myself having to return it. On the other hand I got the series 4 watch and I'm happy with it.

One, I’m not your pal. Second, yes i test drive cars, but I don’t purchase them to do so and then return for a refund. You could have walked into a store this morning and tried the phone. The very phone you were clearly already on the fence about. But you are correct in being entitled. This demonstrates entitlement to the core.

My Apple store has all sizes, and all colors available as of 30 minutes ago. Sure, ymmv, but waiting weeks isn’t a given.

Absolutely LOVE the Max size. It’s not huge to anyone used to the Plus size. I came from a 7 but my partner had an 8+ and being familiar with hers made me feel right at home with the Max. It feels perfect.

I think the consensus is that you did not need to start a thread over your decision. It adds NO value to anyone else's experience.
