Apple never has phones on display before it's released and neither does Samsung.Having the phone on-hand helps makes a clear decision; and as someone mentioned, Apple should've had these phones on display before pre-orders.

Your exactly right. May not be a huge upgrade for look and feel but under the hood it is pretty significant and i think day to day you will see thatYou are not going to give it more than a day to get over your initial reactions? I pick mine up soon but from what I’ve seen, the camera is a pretty huge upgrade. Also there is the stereo video recording and better speakers, better waterproofing, faster LTE, and many other little things. For me on T-Mobile, it will be worth it getting Band 71 support alone. You have 14 days, I would use it for at least a week to see if it grows on you.
I know that; they should though (before pre-orders).Apple never has phones on display before it's released and neither does Samsung.
You didn't know this when you pre-ordered?So I own an iPhone X and I ordered the XS Max last week. It’s just arrived and it’s the first time I’ve not felt excited about a new phone.
I’d like a bigger screen but for the money it’s a lot to pay just for the screen. Everything else to me is exactly the same, so I’ve decided I’ll send it back and hold out another year.
Any one else sending theirs back?

Yes, he could've walked into a store today, but he would've probably had to wait weeks to get one if he decided to upgrade. If Apple had demos available at or before preorder this wouldn't be an issue, so blame Apple for making people buy the phone to try it out first. One, I’m not your pal. Second, yes i test drive cars, but I don’t purchase them to do so and then return for a refund. You could have walked into a store this morning and tried the phone. The very phone you were clearly already on the fence about. But you are correct in being entitled. This demonstrates entitlement to the core.

My Apple store has all sizes, and all colors available as of 30 minutes ago. Sure, ymmv, but waiting weeks isn’t a given.Yes, he could've walked into a store today, but he would've probably had to wait weeks to get one if he decided to upgrade. Hang on a minute pal! Yes I watched reviews etc! Do you buy a car just on reviews without taking it for a test drive ?
I wanted to have hands on myself to make a decision, which I’m entitled to do thank you very much
But it's a possibility. It's not unusual to wait days/weeks for a launch day phone. My Apple store has all sizes, and all colors available as of 30 minutes ago. Sure, ymmv, but waiting weeks isn’t a given.
