So I've always done the smaller sized iPhone, my wife had always done the max size. With the 15 I thought I was prepared to go Max after al the years seeing my wife, big one..... I have big hands, but just can't hack the reach I'm afraid.
What's the deal with returning the phone to apple does anyone know or done this already? Bought of finance in the UK?
not big, too tall

Using a Loopy case has made it plausible for me to wrangle a plus sized phone — in my case, an iPhone 14 Pro Max — with one, or two hands, under a wide variety of conditions, every day…

Good luck in finding the solutions that work for you… 😊

From my circle of family, friends the max phones do seem more popular with women.

My girlfriend has the iPhone 14 Pro Max indeed. The fact that she has to use it with both hands, is probably why she has never dropped it (as she uses it naked).

For 2-handed use, I have the iPad. Yes, it's always with me (purse) and it has built-in cellular so no need to mess around with personal hotspot (auto-connect doesn't always work). :p

I've never really liked big phones. Too unwieldy for single-handed use but the screen's still too small for my liking.
Would you ditch the small phone if Apple made an iPad with phone functionality? Or do you still want the small phone for quicker/one-handed interactions?

Women have purses

Size wise for a man the large ones are too much for putting into a pocket unless you’re rocking these 😂

I think the 4S was the perfect size, bring that back with the X rounded edges and build quality, but the guts of a new phone and full screen with a fingerprint on button, keep the stronger lighting port, sapphire instead of the soft glass crap, submersible like the ultra, stainless, that would be perfect
I burst out laughing at this 😆😆

I agree 4S was the best (followed closely by 5). But I would keep the flat edges (better grip, can stand it up to take pictures, and I prefer it aesthetically), at least one thick bezel (for a safe place to hold, and I don’t want a bigger screen because it’s harder to use one-handed), and aluminum (lighter the better IMO).

Those of you who can use regular size iPhone with one hand, what kind of usage is that exactly? Can you give some examples? I can scroll web page with one hand but other than that, it pretty much requires two handed use. At least that is my experience with my iPhone XR which has 6,1 inch screen. I couldn't even use iPhone 6 comfortably with one hand for most tasks. iPhone 4S I could.

I can use the Max one handed no problem (in fact, I am currently eating while I have iPhone 11 Pro Max one handed).

But for typing, 2-handed > 1-handed. It doesn’t matter if it is a Mini, i just type way faster with “thumb-typing”.

A woman and yes, I LOVE big phones. Screen size was the reason I originally switched to Androids. I got tired of 3.5 inch screens. Back then Note 2 felt revolutionary.
I don't see a single reason to have a small phone and did not consider 6.1 even for a minute. I know 6.1 is still a fairly large phone, but 6.7 is even better.

Upgraded from the 12 Pro to the 15 Pro Max. Took me a day or so to get used to the size, now I love it.

I agree on the MagSafe PopSocket. I've used one for a couple of years now with my 12 Pro and I couldn't hold a phone now without one, especially as I play a lot of Pokemon GO.

I've just got a normal PopSocket and then a MagSafe base from Amazon that the PopSocket sticks onto.

What does that even mean?
OK. I'll break it down…

1. iPhone 15 Pro Max costs over $1000.

2. People like to use their devices with one hand.

3. When you use a device with one hand, if you are uncoordinated or unfamiliar with the size of the device, you might drop the device.

4. The phrase "Asking for trouble" is called a 'colloquialism'. Colloquialisms are unformal phrases typically used in ordinary or familiar conversation. This colloquialism means that by doing X, you increase your chances of something bad happening. In this case, handling a phone with only one hand might increase your chances of something bad happening, like dropping the device.

5. I am uncoordinated, so if I use a device with one hand I am likely to drop the device.

6. Repairing or replacing $1000 iPhones is expensive, unless you have AC+

Hope this helps.

You have a 14-day “no questions asked” return window on Apple products:

I noticed something while comparing screen content on the pro vs pro max, and figured I’d see if it’s just me… Is the pro screen more “efficient” in the sense that it supports faster reading & comprehension vs the max?

It would be ironic since the max shows slightly more content. But I recall that reading speed is directly related to the amount of words you see in a glance. With the max the luxurious screen real estate means things are spaced out more, and it takes more time to locate and then comprehend the text. Whereas the pro, though arguably more cluttered, has more “content per glance” 🤣🤣 and your eyes don’t need to scan as much.

So, anyone else notice this? Or did I discover something huge?! This may be my legacy! Maybe I should start a Xitter account.

I think I’ll need a folding iPhone before I can ditch my iPad mini.

FaceTime call with one holding the shopping basket, cart or a jar of something while showing the jar or product shelves to the person on the other end of the call.

I’m an athletically built man, 5’10”, so not a huge guy by any stretch, and my Pro Max phones fit just fine in my front left jeans pocket 🤷🏻‍♂️

Thanks for the suggestions in the this thread, but I still can't make the size work for me. I did buy the Max for two reasons, the 5x lens and the screen real estate when shooting video/photos. The cons outweigh the pros unfortunately. Especially the fact it started aggravating my arthritis at the bottom of my thumbs.

Return initiated, ordered a 15P replacement. 4-5 weeks :(
