Why not just give the option to adjust the volume ourselves? A setting within the keyboard menu.

If you give settings to one small feature, then all of the features will expect settings. And that's just not the Apple way.

Yes, I know this, and it's one of my biggest gripes with Apple. There is no need for a million settings, but a few more would be nice. Dark mode anyone?

Anyway, if they don't want to give the user an option to control the keyboard click volume (you'd think that this would be an Accessibility option), then they should probably fix what is currently not 'just working'. I would like my keyboard sounds to be audible... like magic. ;)

I feel like this has been a problem before with previous iOS versions and/or iPhone releases.

Apple should give us the ability to adjust how loud we like the keyboard to click. Is this asking too much of the brain surgeons in Cupertino?

I can adjust the volume of the keyboard and the clicking/tapping sounds get louder, maybe not as loud as they were on iOS 9, but more than loud enough for me.

Has anyone tried to raise the volume of the keyboard clicks on the iPhone 7 Plus? I gave my wife my old 6s Plus and her volume on the keyboard clicks in iOS10 is almost twice as loud as mine in the iPhone 7 Plus. I have checked all of the sound settings, and my Ringer volume is at max.

Today, my father-in-law said the same thing about his new iPhone 7 Plus he just setup a few hours ago.

Felt the same when started using my 7. There doesn't seem to be anyway to adjust the volume, just on/off, and it is indeed pretty quiet.

Thanks for all the replies.

It's kind of strange since the lock sound still seems to be on par with the older devices. Maybe a software bug.

wow, i thought it was just me, but the lower volume keyboard click and lock sound on the 7+ is very noticeable compared to the 6 on iOS10. It's definitely not because "the sounds are lowered intentionally". They should be the same volume as it is on the 6 since its running the same OS version. It baffles me.

What Apple needs to do is have all of the volume sliders inside of the Sound settings. There are so many that I do not even think I know them all

App Sound
Ringer Sound
Siri Sound
Keypad/Keyboard Sound
Headphone Sound
Earpiece Sound

I hate the annoying noise in faces. And I literally have to flip the mute switch to get it to stop so I can choose faces in photos! Can't be turned down as far as I can tell.

im experiencing this also.

came from a 6 running 10.01 and now my 7+ has a much lower keyboard click volume, almost non existent! its still very low even with volume bar on max. quite annoying. I hope they find a solution for this soon.

Hi, There is no adjustment for the loudness of the keyboard clicking.

I don't know, but when I adjust the volume under sound and haptic, the keyboard sounds are altered. Granted all the way up isn't that loud, but it is louder than all the way down. I scan see how some might find it adjustment not high enough, but there is definitely some adjustment to it.

It's not just the 7+ or the keyboard, the 7 and other apps/system sounds have issues too. It probably has something to do with the way they are routing audio to the stereo speakers (a API or KEXT probably needs to be updated).

A few quick examples that also have low sound:
Calculator: The key press sound
Google Maps: The microphone press sound
Wallet: The fingerprint reject sound

Sure there is. You just need to enable "change with buttons" in sound settings.

That doesn't make any difference. Whilst I like the new sounds they've introduced with iOS 10 the fact that the keyboard click sound is so low and there is no way to adjust it is unacceptable. Hopefully they will change this in a future update.
