e
How do I type the tailed "E" on my mac. Æ æ, or the slavic version "ę"? I had to cut and paste these letters in case you are wondering. :)
You can get the Slavic version by pressing and holding the letter "e", then selecting the punctuation from the popup. Unfortunately the "tailed e" is not one of those selections.

Swapped the Q12 in and it does not work, no lights, battery dead. Is there a way of turning it off for long term storage? I know is goes to sleep but that is not powered down.

Is there an. Æ æ, on the Mac? On my iPhone I switch to the Greek keyboard but that would be a pain on the Mac. I rarely have the use the AE letter so it isn't a big deal.

Gave my Q5 Pro a new set of keycaps...

Drop biip 2048 keycaps in MT3 profile. They're comfortable to type on and have a pretty cool retro feel to them. Hard to see from my terrible picture, but they're on the taller side.
Beneath them are Gateron Oil King switches which feel and sound so nice.

Felt like building a full-size keyboard. I have the 96% Q5 Pro, but actually don't have any true 100% full-sized keyboards.
So... I present to you...

| Keychron Q6 Max
| Gateron Jupiter Banana switches
| NovelKeys Superuser keycaps (KAM profile, similar to XDA profile)

I'm still awaiting a matching green & black keyboard cable and black wrist rest, but felt like posting anyway before it was completed. I'm pretty happy with the way it came out, and the Gateron Jupiter Banana switches are nearly indistinguishable from my preferred tactile switches (Gateron Baby Kangaroo), which is why I bought the keyboard with the switches instead of barebones. Sounds pretty good. Not too muted but not overly obnoxious. I actually prefer louder keyboards but at least at work I try to keep the "volume" under control as I often work with my office door open. At home, there's no one to bother (my wife doesn't really mind), so I let it be as loud as it pleases.

He's a big boy, alright, but I'd like to think it's a keyboard Neo himself would use. I'll post another picture when the cable and wrist rest come in later this week.

My Keychron Q3 Max (with banana switches) just arrived. It’s almost perfect. Big wedge of beautifully machined metal. My only mod was to put some bigger feet on the back to get the keyboard angled comfortably. They should really be supplied as standard.

Use it via Bluetooth to Mac and work PC (yuck!). Cable connected so I never need charge it.

I have the unwanted period problem scoped out, it is a double space period, tap the space bar twice quickly it inserts a period.

Here are the steps for toggling it. All this time I thought something was amiss with the switches or the Keyboard.

I replaced the banana switch at the period position. I have the Gateron Green baby kangaroo, right next to a Gatereon Banana. I cannot tell any difference between the 2 switches, The Baby kangaroo might be smoother, is that linear?

  1. Navigate to System Settings. Press the Apple menu in the top left or use Spotlight search to find it.
  2. Find keyboard. It's likely at the bottom.
  3. Find input sources, then click Edit.
  4. Unselect 'Add period with double-space'.

Well phoney I lost a key cap. I was changing the Q1 out with the Kangaroo Greens, and I popped off a keycap and it flew off into the twilight zone I heard it hit the desk top but from there ?????? Temporally robbed one off of the Q12 but it does not have the same profile at the ones installed on the Q1. Been looking for an excuse to replace the set of key caps for this Q1 besides Keychron were is a good place to look?

Not that much attention to detail as the Mac specific function keys are missing, as is the £ key.
I think they're mostly catering to US users. By attention to detail, I mean their legends are far more consistent than most PBT sets out there, like those from Keychron where different font weights and sometimes even different font faces are used, less of a space between f and t on the Shift keys, and the tab key is tastefully redesigned from the usual legend. The number of specialty keys and those for other layouts are sparse, yes, but that's probably a choice on their part to cater to the most common customers rather than a lack of attention to detail in designing the actual keycaps.

I have the Keychron Bluetooth issue fixed. I learned that you cannot mix PC with Apple. I have that worked around by plugging the Q1 into the Mini PC for charging while I have the Mac Studio and the iPad Pro paired via Bluetooth. All I have to do the switch to the PC in turn off Bluetooth, and switch the Keyboard to Windows. To switch between the iPad and the Mac all In have to do is make sure Bluetooth is on than press FN and 1 for the Mac, and 2 for the iPad. I am now trying to decide what to do about a pointer, I have a spare Logi Ergo trackball, but something a lot smaller would be nice.
