This makes a lot more sense than an M2/M2 Pro iMac update this fall. If M3 isn’t ready now, just wait until next year and launch MacBook Air 13/15, Mac Mini and iMac all at the same time with M3

Wow. What a surprise haha.

Seriously tho, it's waaaay overdue (anyone reading this page probably feels the same), and a 24" screen seems so quaint at this point. A base iMac should be at least 27" minimum at this point IMHO.
iMac Mini (24), iMac Air (24, cheaper), iMac (27), iMac Pro (32")

Unfortunately, I don’t see Apple making a 27” iMac given it offers two desktops and a separate 27” inch screen. You will have the option of a base iMac 24 (which is quite good!) and a super high end 32 inch

Why in the *())*&3 do they not make a larger iMac? Is it so hard to engineer a 27" iMac? I believe Apple is up to the challenge. And who says that 24" is the size the majority of people want in an iMac anyway? 24" is just too small these days, IMHO. I'm sure people would buy a 27" iMac instead of a 24". Actual question, though: Who knows what the impact of cost would be if they replaced the screen to a 27" size?
Because such a Mac would emphasize how ridiculously overpriced Apple's displays are. The Studio Display costs more than the previous iMac with the same display built in. The Pro display costs more than most 8k TVs, yet is smaller and has lower resolution than them.

Thanks for the reply. This assumes that an iMac (not an iMac Pro) REQUIRES a high-end monitor. Apple lives in a fairyland world in which they have convinced themselves that everyone is a videographer or artist doing high-end work. In the real world, people use iMacs mostly for basic computing. They hardly need a 4K or 8K monitor for that. I would think a basic monitor on the 27" and a higher monitor on a larger 32" iMac Pro could be a reasonable solution.

If Apple can’t get any worse! They only launch the bare minimum because they can’t innovate anymore or when they do it’s months or years too late. For all we know the next iMac 24” could come out late 24. And that wouldn’t surprise me with Apple now days. The rumour of the M2 pro was at least something. For Apple this year was a washout, except for a preview of the Apple Headset, no consumer would buy. A Mac Pro that is useless for some professionals that has very little upgradability. And redesigned macbook airs one bigger then the other and a few spec bumps on their laptop ranges. A bland year for Apple!

There are not enough colors on Earth to make the boring, unrelenting flatness of the current iMac design the least bit interesting.

I'm done with iMacs, and you should be too.

If you think you want a new iMac, you don't. You want a mini and a monitor. If you really want an all-in-one, get a mini and a monitor, and get a VESA mount to stick the mini to the back of the monitor.

apple needs to trim down those chins on their imacs lol.
and please, no more white bezels lol.
To me the chin still feels like a distinctive feature of the iMac - without it, I feel it looks like any other screen/AIO.

As for the white bezels - I see why people might not like them, so I would like to see Apple offering options here.
Or just a silver/space gray version that comes with black bezels.

My partner has an iMac and I think the white bezels make it look somewhat friendly and approachable. Similar to the polycarbonate MacBooks.

I will believe it when it is on the market and I highly doubt that it will ever be introduced. I know I would buy the larger iMac as I have a 2017 iMac 27" 5K.

I knew it. Got tired of waiting and ordered an M2 air instead during gift card period. Happy with purchase.

And then it’s not even a guarantee it will get M3.

I don’t understand why Apple hasn’t launched larger iMacs? We should have 42” options, never mind 27” or 32”. It’s nonsense.

I really hope they take this opportunity during this refresh to drop a larger 27"-32" iMac as well🤞
Historically, has Apple put the bigger display on sale after the standard size one? It would be "heartbreaking" to buy the new 24" then a couple of months later Apple introduces the bigger display iMac.

Hmm, I really want a bigger display. More power is just a bonus. I had the mini and monitor set up when I had the cheese grater Mac Pro and monitor. I haven't priced it out, but I would think mini and a monitor would be more money?? But anyway, what happened in your case that made you "done with iMacs"?
