A member on another thread posted the detail look of the pink sand loop, I personally really like it with the gold watch case.
I wonder if anyone has experience with the sport loop material, and is it comfortable to wear?
Thank you

The sport loop is absolutely the most comfortable band I've ever worn. I got the platinum/black with my new AW. I'm really looking forward to some of the Chinese companies selling these so that we can get them in more and more vivid colors!

I was just going to say... I wonder how the knock offs of the sport loop will look. It is quite comfy, but with two apple ones, I don't foresee myself buying more at their price;).

I don't buy any genuine Apple accessory. Their prices are just outrageous. I've had no issues with the kockoffs I've gotten, and I have a TON of them.

I have this band on backorder from B&H, ordered it when I got my series 3. Hope I get it soon, I really like the look of it! :)

I too don't usually pay apple prices for their bands but there are no knock offs yet and the one apple nylon band I have is so much better than the knock offs so I figured I'd just splurge this one time ;)

Time to revive this thread again. I just found a really pretty one on Amazon!

This is the most graceful, lady-like band I've seen yet.

I had to remove two links, but they included the whole kit to remove them, so it was really easy.

Wow this thread sat for a long time. It was funny to read my newbie posts from last October..geeze. But I was excited. I will go back to lurking because I’m just not into girly bands or cheap knockoffs either. I love the bands I have and am loving the watches. (I have 2 now). If anyone has a dark olive they decided they aren’t crazy about, regular sport type 38mm... I’m looking for one. Apple brand only :)
Have a good one girls!

In a coffee shop.
I am just home from an extended period of time abroad.

My mother has Alzheimer's (very advanced) and the fantastic live in carer (a wonderful Filipina nurse, she has lived with us for over five years) reminded me yesterday that my mother's favourite necklace - an "Albert" chain - which she had guarded carefully, needed attention because the clasp was broken; I have been so busy with other stuff that this had passed me by completely. Anyway, today, I took it into an old family (five generation) jewellery business for repair.

They were awed by the quality of the chain; I don't yet know if the clasp can be repaired, replaced or if a new piece of gold needs to be cast instead; never mind. They will let me know. It is a beautiful piece, and a privilege to have repaired.

These two are my favorites. Very comfortable.

I know this thread is old but........ does anyone have any third party sport loops they love? I have yet to find a third party sport or sport loop that comes close to Apple bands. Help, I’m going broke!

I have never been disappointed with the ones I get from alie express if that helps.

I'm always vaguely surprised when someone necro's (necro-es?) an old thread.....

I wonder what has happened to Jmona, where she is and how she is doing?

As for me, my first Apple Watch was the now-called "Series 0," i.e., first-generation, and I bought the stainless steel Space Black with matching Space Black link band. Now I'm wearing a Series 3 Apple Watch, again Space Black, with that same link band because I love it so much, think it looks elegant and certainly it is functional, and pretty much have had no desire to run out and buy a bunch of other bands, although once or twice have been briefly tempted. I find it fascinating and fun to see what others are doing with their watches and watch bands, though, and how they like to swap bands on nearly a daily basis.....

This one is my favorite, in color and in feel. It took a little breaking in but it's very soft and comfortable now. Washes and dries well. I bought it in Sept. TBH, I haven't found any that feel exactly the same. But the $40 price difference make the small differences negligible for me. I just ordered the Storm Grey version also.

I too bought my first watch S0 in 2015. I found this thread and loved reading all the posts. I have a series 4 now and have had a hard time finding bands I feel compare to Apples. I remembered this thread but a lot of the recommended bands are no longer available. Hoped some who used to post would chime in with new ideas.

Hi. I may be getting an Apple Watch as a gift next month and hope I can get some help. I apologize for the long post.

1- I usually only wear small watches, but think I can get used to this larger watch. Anyone make the change? Thoughts?

2- I wear mostly silver jewelry and so am thinking of getting the aluminum silver watch. The rose gold is really attractive but I don't frequently wear even yellow gold. Truthfully, I would prefer to find a way to do two-tone, but have no ideas how to do it. Has anyone ever found a way to do two-tone? Can people tell me if the different cases work well?

3- Can anyone suggest bands that may give the watch a slimmer/smaller appearance?

4- I would like to find a "metal" band that is more minimal but strong enough to wear everyday (casual to dress-casual). I have a mesh band on my Garmin tracker but it is a little heavier looking than I would like and can catch fabric. I am eyeing some of the 3 and 6 row bands on Etsy.

5- When wearing more dressy clothes, is it possible to tuck the watch (without the band) into my bra? Has anyone tried doing this?

I am sorry for all of the questions, but I want to be sure this is what I want and will enjoy. Thank you!!

My answers in bold:

1- I usually only wear small watches, but think I can get used to this larger watch. Anyone make the change? Thoughts?

The 40mm Apple Watch is by far the largest watch face I’ve ever worn on my fairly small wrists, and it did take some getting used to. Would love the 44mm--bigger battery, more Apple OEM bands available—but I personally could not go any bigger. I did get used to the 40, mostly because the watch is too useful to let the size annoy me too much.

I went with the aluminum because I only wear silver; now that I know I’ll get enough use out of the watch to justify the price, I’ll upgrade to the shiny stainless steel next time. I’ve seen the rose gold in person and it’s lovely, but that woman had nothing but rose gold on, even her engagement ring. Google pics and you may find people who’ve paired it with silver.

3- Can anyone suggest bands that may give the watch a slimmer/smaller appearance?

Haven’t seen any. Narrower bands tend to emphasize the oversized look rather than diminish it. Like I said, you get used to it within a couple of days.

No recs here, but there’s an entire thread of pics stickied of watch and band combos for you to look at.

5- When wearing more dressy clothes, is it possible to tuck the watch (without the band) into my bra? Has anyone tried doing this?

I haven’t tried it. I’ve opted for 3rd party dressy leather bands from Amazon and bead bracelet style bands from Etsy. Pretty much the only time I wouldn’t wear it on my wrist would be a wedding. As the bride. LOL Everywhere else, no one is likely to notice or care.

I am sorry for all of the questions, but I want to be sure this is what I want and will enjoy. Thank you!!

IrishVixen, thanks for the info. I will expect time to adjust. Do you know where I can find the thread of pics with the watch and band combos? Also, do you use any type of metal band? Not sure I want to do the Milanese.

Thanks!

Well, this very thread is full of pics. As is this one: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/the-great-third-party-band-strap-thread.1866289/

I haven’t opted for a metal band at this point. Most of them I’ve seen when combined with the watch aren’t feminine enough for my personal taste. BUT...I also have no real need for a business or business casual band, I’m either wearing a sport band or sport loop for daily wear, leather or beaded for dressier events. My sister in law who works for a legal firm went stainless with the Milanese and loves it, that’s her full time band.
