guys, that estonian link about the 4.2Ghz, I mean all other pages shows the i7700k at 3.6Ghz boost up to 4.2Ghz, isn't this just a misunderstanding that it is showed with the 4.2Ghz boost clock as maximum excluding the standard rate of 3.6Ghz?

Let's say this one that has been out for ages ...
http://www.fudzilla.com/news/40596-intel-core-i7-7700k-kaby-lake-cpu-benchmarks-leaked

Just thinking, why would it suddenly be an i7 7700K at 4.2-4.5Ghz rather than the already presented 3.6-4.2Ghz?!
Anyone with me ...?

EDIT: Oh sorry, I saw here that it says i7 7700 at 3.6Ghz and i7700K has core clock at 4.2Ghz...

Still very confusing ...

To follow Apple's Pro and Thinness fetishes, iMac might split in to Classic and Pro lines:

iMac Classic "extra thin"
- Full retina, last gen displays.
- AMD A10 and A12 APU's 65W TDP
- SSD 128GB or bigger
- DDR4 Ram soldered
- No Thunderbolt
- Retina model staring from $1,299.00

iMac Pro
- HDR Retina displays, maybe Apple pencil compatible
- Latest Intel CPU's less than 100W TDP
- Latest GPU's under 150W TDP
- Water cooling, no more hard drives
- SSD 256GB or bigger
- DDR4 user serviceable
- Thunderbolt 3 or similar PCIe tech
- Pricing starting from $1,999.00
- Space gray! :p

Disclaimer: everything is speculation up there...

the last thing I want in a sealed unit is water cooling.

I would like to see Apple return the iMac to the previous thickness, if they make a pro version, of the 2011 model and use that thickness to install two of the best desktop class mxm graphics cards it can handle. Then make the drive bays accessible like the memory and have two standard configuration slots for M.2 SSD drives.

I don't care for or want touch on a imac.

I had the maxed out 2014 5K iMac, which like you said was throttling when struggling. So for me this caused issues where I had to try not pushing it too hard. I heard that was better on the 2015. Nonetheless, the iMac is extremely silent and snappy until it starts struggling, then its fans go bananas loud.

I owned both the 2014 and 2015 with the top-end i7 and the R9 295X in the former, R9 395X in the latter. The 2014 would spin the fans to a noticeable level under severe CPU and/or GPU load, but the 2015 model does not do so under the same load.

This has been long desired by many. Unfortunately its highly unlikely.

We'll see a derivative these in the new iMac. E9550 is very similar in specs to a desktop RX 480.
