When in doubt minimize your exposure. Good to know two that are in the low category are on my personal approved vendors list. Have to give LG another try since last one was the Nexus 4.

still a little defensive....... Those links do not add anything to this topic to be honest except further prove the OPs data....
You have to remember, if the iPhone is implicated in any bad thing then that immediately makes that thing "Not Really Matter".

Don't know why you argue with some of these guys, you know how it goes around here Mate

Had there been no iPhone on the bad list, the iFans would be here telling us about how bad Androids are in radiation narrative would be very different.

Gotta say that is exactly right and it would have been on the MR front page

It's OK though, I get it. You don't like to see anything negative about Apple products. No further explanation needed. All good.
If you are accusing someone of being biased towards Apple products, should it be fair to say this post among others comes off as being a paid shill for Samsung. Can you divulge details about your arrangement with Samsung?

Interesting, so you are saying Samsung would gladly get someone to show the stats of Samsung's home country rival (LG) in a lot of products, beating Samsung (LG best performer in that list). Hell of a strategy mate

That's like Chevy paying someone to push a study that has a Ford product winning overall. Makes absolute sense, doesn't it? /s

And the hits keep coming. Man o man, there's more salt in this thread than Gordon Ramsay steak.

Wow...so the post you replied to was pretty polite. But your post was very rude. Name calling is against forum rules.

I thought I was not being impolite but direct, I apologize if I came across as rude but that was not intentional.

The OP's post history along with his avatar shows that the person has a particular axe to grind against Apple and favor Samsung, which is fine if disclosed, but totally fails under the pretense of unbiased posts. My response was just putting this bias out there, which of course was not responded to but deflected instead.

Proud user of LG G7+ 6GB Ram
[doublepost=1550003824][/doublepost]Best LCD screen out there, yes miles better than XR.

iPhones have always been oddly bad with this (I remember noticing this on GSM arena). I don't suppose the levels we're talking about make a huge amount of difference (as compared to having or not having a smartphone at all). With the 5G controversy I wonder if this will be brought more into focus? It's been rumbling on since the inception of cellular services, time to actually get some answers here.

This is sage advice. I’ve been doing this for years with either wired or Bluetooth headsets. Since my flip phone days. Doesn’t matter what phone I’m using. Just bought AirPods they make it even easier to keep the phone away from your body.

According to the following site, manufacturers get to choose the distance at which the SAR is measured. As distance to the body gets smaller, the SAR increases dramatically. Apple's distance is 1/3 that of Samsung's.

https://www.saferemr.com/2018/02/samsung-galaxy-s9-and-s9-plus-specific.html

The minimum separation distance for body-worn testing was 15 mm (about 0.6 of an inch). According to the testing facility, "Device was tested using a fixed spacing for body-worn accessory testing. A separation distance of 15 mm was considered because the manufacturer has determined that there will be body-worn accessories available in the marketplace for users to support this separation distance." (1,2)

The SARs for the Apple iPhone X and iPhone X Plus were obtained at a separation distance of 5 mm (about 0.2 of an inch) from the body so the body-worn SAR values are not comparable to those reported for the Samsung phones. The iPhone SAR values can be found in my article on Apple Iphones."

...

For the body-worn SAR test, the FCC allows the manufacturer to choose the separation distance between the cell phone and the test model as long as consumers are informed about the minimum distance tested. However, few consumers are aware of the manufacturer’s recommended minimum body separation distance from their cell phone because this information is often difficult to find.

...

To ensure that the cell phone does not exceed the legal limit, consumers should never keep their cell phone in their pockets or next to their skin. The cell phone is not tested directly against the body because almost all cell phones would fail the SAR test as the radiation absorption increases dramatically when the cell phone is close to the body.

I feel like if this was really something to worry about, there would already be an increase in certain forms of cancer. So far that hasn’t happened

Yes, but remember that we started to use our phones all day a few years ago. So it's to early to discard some bad effects of the radiation.
Remember what they said about smoking? So, if other brands could lower the SAR, Apple should do it too.

Wow what a read. https://www.saferemr.com/2016/10/do-iphones-emit-more-radiation-than_24.html?m=1

If this is true - then SAR ratings are confusing to the consumer and manipulative.

“The iPhones were tested at 5 millimeters, and the Galaxy phones were tested at 15 millimeters. If the Galaxy phones had been tested at 5 millimeters, the SAR values would likely have been between 1.73 and 2.78 W/kg.”

“Some phones may even fail the SAR test with a 5 millimeter body separation distance. For example, the Samsung Galaxy 7 phones would not likely have been certified for sale because the maximum SAR allowed in the U.S. or Korea is 1.60 W/kg, and the body SARs would have exceeded this limit if the phones were tested at 5 millimeters.”

Definitely agree with article writer that tests need to be standardized. Either way, I rarely talk on my phone and when I do it is really short. Uploading photos, sending photos, and reading is mostly what I do.
