If anything is in 3d I will be buying the blu ray, non 3d and it's iTunes for me. I won't say all non 3d movies though. Really big movies like LOTR and Star Wars will be blu ray.

Not to be cynical or sentimental but if you go ahead and build up a collection of iTunes movies and at some point (because your too old) want to transfer them to your spouse/kids, how should one go about that given that one has invested a lot of money in itunes.

I believe Bruce Willis is making the same augment. But I would probably give them my iTunes Account information. With the new Apple TV you can easily switch Accounts. But it would be nice to be able to merge accounts.

HUh?

Authorize their computers or just give them your password. If you're dead, who cares?

I have about 150 blurays and have watched maybe 25 of them LOL
As of this week I now have a bluray burner.
Im just going to burn everything I have, sell off the bluray case & discs and keep what Ive burned on discs.
Any new movie that comes out, Ill rent and burn. As far as iTunes digital copies......I have about 110 from blurays. For digital copies, Ill just buy them for $3 or so and have an Apple iCloud copy :)

Im done storing my blurays on a shelf.

If anyone is interested in buying MINT blurays in bulk, PM me.

^ this is the fellow renting DVD's and ripping them, and this is pirate activity and this not allowed on the forum.

The story about Bruce is false, from what i have read recently.

I don't think it will matter eventually. It's only a matter of time before it's all subscription based, or online rentals, and nobody ever 'buys' a movie. If internet bandwidths were large enough to stream a movie in actual blu-ray quality (which will eventually happen) and netflix (or some company like that) had just a little better collection, I'd never buy a movie again.

As it is now, I very rarely buy a movie and I certainly never buy them on iTunes. I only buy a movie if I know I'll watch it at least 5 or so times. Otherwise, it's a waste of money. This is coming from someone who has a home theater with several hundred movies on tap (of which maybe 25 I've watched more than two times).
