Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

Ugh, it's already patina-ing horribly. I think I might want to exchange it for the electric blue

The brighter colors don’t seem to bode well over time, barring saddle brown
..I’ll be honest, I was thinking the spicy orange Silicone owners are the lucky ones
Aside from shiny edges and greasing up the material, the orange will retain its luster. It’s a shame apple stopped selling it
Luckily that blue DOES look great. and I’m more confident it would patina better
I blasted my aubergine with the heat gun on accident. The leather looks like purple sparkles. It's super weird but kinda cool. Might have fried the damn thing though LOL
The only reason for this is people are used to seeing dirty brown leather (wallets, shoes, belts, saddles) so it doesn’t look as offensive. Ultimately, dirt, skin are just that - accumulated debris.
Can you guys post pictures of your leather cases? I wanna see updated saddle brown and also curious on how the other colors started turning out.

Ordered 11/29/2017 for my 8+. Heritage Cognac color.
Darkened after a few months. Now it's getting really dark. I carry my phone with me EVERYWHERE so these cases get a lot of usage from me.
It's not sticky but it really has darkened where I hold it and use it a lot. I wouldn't call it dirty but it's working for me now so I won't replace it for now.
Definitely tempted to drop another $39 for a new one but this case won't die. Have had a handful of people say they like my case and were looking to get a leather one from plastic.

I know that. A lot of those pictures don't show as much patina because the phone hast been out as long. Also, theres not many other colors posted of the patina. I know mine doesnt look the same as it did a month ago so i figured others probably have changed as well.

Mine too.... I've had it for like, ten days, but been using it all the time, 24/7, travelling and moving around a lot, so the iPhone is laying on tables in cafés and restaurants, moving around in my backpack or jeans pocket or in my hands... so I'd say more intense usage than usual... but still love it

But if I don’t want the worn look I have a black leather too and white silicone
I have had my genuine Apple Cosmos Blue leather case on my iPhone 8 Plus, since launch day and it is holding up really good!
The leather is still scratch free and still feels really nice. At the beginning, it was quite slippery and smooth but now, it has a really good 'grippy' feel to it - kinda sticky (not literally!) like (I can hold it on my open fingers at 45 degrees and it won't slip off), like the leather naturally grips your fingers and hand.
I've tried using some other cases (when I get bored!) but I always come back to the Cosmos Blue!!!

Its formed a nice patina with most of the colouration happening around the edges.
I like it.
The leather is still scratch free and still feels really nice. At the beginning, it was quite slippery and smooth but now, it has a really good 'grippy' feel to it - kinda sticky (not literally!) like (I can hold it on my open fingers at 45 degrees and it won't slip off), like the leather naturally grips your fingers and hand.
