I was a little bummed he reviewed the closed bottom. I get it, but Ryan London has been known for their open bottom too. Would have been nice for him to have both on the review. And in my opinion, the open bottom is far superior to the one he reviewed ( even if it's similar to bullstrap )

Superior in what way?

I would have liked the Nomad English tan if it wasn’t for the big bottom lip, plus the bottom lip was sharp.
I don’t find the bottom lip sharp or bothersome at all. But to be fair I don’t have the pro max.

The bottom lip is only slightly bigger and you don’t really notice it unless you’re actively looking for it.

Just watched TT’s review of the Ryan London. Looks great. Any thoughts about this v Nomad and Andar? What’s the quality of the leather like?
The open-bottom case or the closed one? In my opinion, their open-bottom case feels much nicer than the closed-bottom case. The closed-bottom RL case feels very similar to my Andar one. Both are great, but I like the open-bottom one more.

Either do they, I have the max and you don't even notice it like you said. If you didn't read it on here no one would even know lo and it's softer PU than previous years.

Thought I’d take advantage of bullstrap’s 50% off cheapest item deal they’re running for valentines and got the silver watch strap and a sienna leather case for my 15 Pro to go with my current rotation

Black BS, Bourbon BS and a Black Lucky Coin.

Much nicer for swiping though, and the chances of it landing dead on the uncovered bit are so small, it's worth the nicer experience IMO, but as with anything it's down to personal taste - at least there are enough options on the market for everyone :)
Yes I agree swiping is great.

I noticed you said that you have a lucky coin case… Are you also in the camp of Lucky coin being good but not as good as bull strap and Ryan London?

It’s certainly up there quality and fit wise, and obviously has minimal branding. It’s about 80% of what a bullstrap or RL case is

Just received my LC Navy (really turquoise). At 37g for the PM it’s the lightest and slimmest leather case I’ve tried for the 15. I don’t think we’ll get close to the weight of Apple’s old leather cases at 30g for the PM. How the hell did they do it?

I get a kick out of how many cases you all have. Amazed they develop any patina with all the swapping out. Don’t think I could convince my wife I need that many leather cases. Ha ha.
I had that problem with my 14PM last year in that I ended up with like four leather cases. I swore to myself I’d stick with one this year and so far have been successful.

Yeah this year has been crazy. I usually just buy the apple leather case and I’m done. I had 3 cases in the 2 years with my 13pro, midnight green and plum apple leather. Since I got the 15pro I’ve had andar, alto, bare, bullstrap, 2 Keyway, lucky coin, ymw and lonli edition and still haven’t found a “perfect” leather case. My favorite has been naked with the dbrand leather skin.

Edit: almost forgot the finewoven and apple silicone cases I returned

*inner voice:* “But you can never have enough leather cases… one more won’t hurt!”

would never buy a open bottom case for daily use
I will say that with my andar and RL closed bottom; they’re reason why I have a chip the blue titanium, and why my screen protector broke. Both times with both of those cases when my phone fell the corners get lifted up. Never had an issue with my open bottoms. The only time was when it fell on uneven concrete and my 12pm showed a scratch on the bottom of the phone.

My luckycoin case is very snug to the phone and doesn’t pull off the corner easily though. So I think more cases like this should be on market instead of the looser fitting andar style.

For one this is how thin the leather on the Apple case was. They also had less lip than most of these cases and used plastic not metal for the camera hump. I don’t know why no one has released a case just like there’s since there is a clearly a market for it.

Because Apple leather case were made of plastic and a really thin layer of leather.

Aren’t all leather cases made of plastic with a thin layer of leather over it though?
I hadn’t try each ones, but I suppose yes. But thinking about lighter weight of Apple ones made me think that’s because Apple ones have the thinner layer of leather :)
