Rare to see anyone in the wild with an open bottom case these days with glass front and back phones.

We’ve had glass front and back phones since 2017… it’s not exactly a recent change?!

I mean, it’s also rare to see anyone using a leather case full stop most will either buy from Apple or buy the cheap stuff off Amazon etc. Although that being said, Apple’s own clear cases are all open bottom.

What do you mean in the wild? If I was in construction or hiking I wouldn’t run a leather case to begin with. For the type of work I’m in now an open bottom leather case is plenty good.

I'm in construction and I do. Bullstrap warranty and I get Ryan London's on sale. Oh well. The dirt and grit give these cases character!

What does it matter how long ago, still same style of case. Disagree on the closed bottom case the way it happened.
I could be completely misinformed so please don't take this at face value, but in all those years haven't they changed screen materials? To be stronger etc? Not to mention the phones are completely different shapes which contribute to how they absorb drops with these cases.

Also, for me, we live in a world where AppleCare is 9.99 a month and screen repairs are only $29. So. I was just debating the point that's all. For me, I enjoy the open bottom enough more that I'd be willing to take that risk (haven't cracked a screen yet, work construction and had an open bottom all year with my 14 last year) and now the 15.

CEO of Bullstrap says their closed bottom will release in Sienna colour only to begin with.

Just FYI for anyone that’s holding out for one

I think that’s a good strategy… they can then see if it’s popular enough to offer more colour options or to just continue with what they currently sell.

Anybody with a Decoded leather case? I see they are doing 30% off on their site...
Are their cases good quality?

They are good cases when on offer, nice buttons, good magnets and a secure fit.

Just avoid the clay colour as it’s the one that will show dirt the quickest. The black is a safe bet, their tan is quite orange compared to other companies.

So I am guessing what you are saying is that they are not the top leather case to go for? More the next level down?
Was thinking of getting the Black or Navy colour for my brother to go with his Black Pro Max I bought him..
How is the feel of the leather? Is it grippy?

Depends, no way a hands on tradie would be using a leather open bottom case, wouldn't last a week lol
I have plenty of friends/family that are, maybe if you are a supervisor etc

Every tradie I have come to work here recently ie plumbers, tilers, even carpet layers, none use leather lol
Imagine a plumber using a leather open bottom case haha

it's also rare to tear the **** out of an iPhone case and post a bunch of pics of it lol
Never heard of a tear down lol
Football must be boring if you are on here
The real football is coming for you soon, NRL Las Vegas look it up haha
Here you go learn the rules.

I mean say what would make ya feel better but have no reason to lie to you. lol.
I've gone through multiple replacements, yes, but I can afford it and I like the worn look. Haven't damaged my phone yet. Again why I mentioned bullstraps warranty being a great deal.

I'm an active electrician if it's that important :)

Black on black would be a timeless combo IMO.

The leather is grippy after a week or two once it gains oil from your hands etc.

How protective would you say the case is?
Sorry about the endless questions lol
I just don't want to spend money on the case and realise its not quality...These cases are not easy to send back due to how much it costs for shipping so you are almost stuck with it once you have bought it!

Depending on your location, Amazon sell Decoded leather cases and often on sale to match the Decoded website - might be worth checking as their returns are a lot easier.

The case is as protective as any other leather case. It's well made and secure, beyond that sadly it's down to luck if you ever do drop your phone/case. But it's identical in design to Ryan London, Keyway and Ander (albeit different buttons and leather used on the different brands).

I live in London and just checked Amazon UK and they don't seem to sell it on there.
Is the case your current daily driver or do you use it only sometimes...
