Leather Cases - Patina Proud Photos

Got my Nomad Horween Traditional Case in Rustic Brown today, and unfortunately for $85 I'm very disappointed. The color is significantly more red than represented on the site. And it came with a scratch above the power button. But I could potentially overlook both those things if it wasn't for the fact the case just doesn't fit well. The bottom isn't snug to the phone - you can see how the cutouts are misaligned and there's visible gap where the back begins to curve. It creates an uneven lip on the front where the bottom is more flush than the rest. It isn't that the case is loose there - it literally just doesn't fit...I'm squeezing it in the one picture and the gap remains. Picture of my Belemay case for reference that fits appropriately (and was also more of the color I was expecting for the Nomad).

The leather itself feels great but for this price I expect perfection, especially when there are better alternatives on Amazon for less than half the price.

The bottom gap on the nomad is to fit their wrist strap. Inside the case there is a space for it like a square. I know it’s just a useless feature to force on users.

Wow. I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't change the lip on the front to be flush. If they're going to do it on purpose, at least make the bottom lip taller to offset it.
 
For UK residents who have ordered and received an Andar case via Fedex delivery in the last few months, did you have to pay any additional taxes upon delivery?
 
Anyone else receive any shipping notification from Bluebonnet lately? They said they would have tracking last Thursday but nothing yet.

I received a tracking number last Thursday, but it is still pre-shipment. Worst buying experience I have had in a very long time. But I still want it lol
 
My buddy just upgraded to the 17pro and was nice enough to give me back the 11pro I sold him 5 years ago. Well the first thing I did was go online and found an authentic Apple saddle brown leather case and it arrived today. Man, I forgot how nice these were before the 12 series, the leather is just so nice. I also forgot how slippery they were fresh out of the box. I don’t know how much it will patina because I’m not going to be holding it much but I had to get one for the nostalgia. I’ll take some comparison pics with other 2 brown cases I had for the 15pro, lucky coin and Keyway, when I have some more time.

Apple Leather cases were top notch. I still don’t understand why they discontinued them
Leather is a by product of an animal in this case it was vegan leather which I believe was natural

If it's under £100 value inc postage then no costs.

Just got an email that it won’t ship until 11/5. I’ll be sure to remember to order next time as early as possible and just wait.

I ordered on 9/19 and I’m in the same boat, so I’m not sure it matters when you order with them 🤷🏻‍♂️ I also got shipping “confirmation” on Thursday (it still says it’s in pre-shipment). And I haven’t received any update except for the copy-paste one that others got about how sorry they are, unforeseen demand, etc. bla bla bla 🙄

I can’t imagine being two days after release day put me so far down on the cue that I should be getting cases at the same time (or later than) people who ordered after me, even factoring in My location (Vermont). But whatever, I just hope it’s a keeper. It does seem like they’ve done a bit of a bait and switch with the design, so I’m guessing there were significant last minute design and/or supplier issues behind the scenes. I’m actually glad the interior isn’t bright blue (at least if any of it showed through in the cutouts), though I would have liked speaker holes rather than slots. We shall see…

I am hoping that the changes mean a better product than being sent a rushed product. Maybe the initial batch arrived in Texas and after their inspection, they didn't like something and that could be better for us.

Both the Torro and Dockem leather cases had terrible fit on my iPhone 17 Pro.

They were so incredibly tight that they both bowed in the middle. The corners were barely protected while the mid section had a lot of lip sticking up. I struggled to get them back off my phone.

Are we expected to treat the leather and hope it stretches or something just to fit the phone?
 
If you like open sides it’s amazing. I’m going to sell or return though as I find by having nothing on the sides, I’m hitting the screen when I don’t want to. Other than that it is a quality great fitting case

Tried my second LC, this time around black, and it is the same fine quality my black LC for my 16+ was that I cherished.
Initially I thought I had a lemon since the power button would not actuate but removing the case and giving it a couple presses on both sides without the phone on broke it in. Phew, because I really did not wanna enter the lottery again... might've just stuck with the Lonli if I had to return another.

The dark brown I had for 17Pro and returned was really dry and sort of flaky/rough feeling.

This isn't completely smooth there is some slight texture to it, as would be expected / it is leather, but much smoother than the previous and feels like it was properly conditioned before it got shipped out.

I had a pretty similar experience with the light brown LC on 16+ too... it wasn't great quality and the brown literally flaked off to where I saw white material begin to appear underneath in a day or two. There may just be quality control fluctuation regardless of color, given the low price / where these are pumped out from, but even from other photos I saw of the black it appeared that this was more likely to be a winner material wise.

Pretty sure I'm going to keep both this AND my Lonli edition azure blue for variety as I love that color too / quality seems pretty good on the particular unit I got.

This is the dark brown that went back, where to the discerning eye, you can see it looks considerably more textured / dryer / resulting in a fake and disastisfying feeling (IMO):

The half of the plateau being covered up like that weirds me out. Also for people that likes to show they have the latest iphone this case defeats that purpose I reckon as it looks like older iphone models in this type of cases
