I'm not sure if I missed this... but was there a particular reason as to why a 38mm version was not released?

Probably the same reason a 42mm modern buckle was not released. Apple for whatever reason chose to offer different leather bands unique to each size (and maybe a subtle gender preference?) in four colors - black, blue, brown, pink/stone

Found a black leather loop name in store today and I love it so far. Huge upgrade over the sport band for me and well worth it.

Thinking of purchasing the black leather loop band. My wrist is 180mm so which size would be best to buy? the medium or large band? I have the 42mm apple space grey apple watch

What wrist sizes are you and what size LL did you choose?

I'm 190mm. I currently own a SGS and am thinking about returning it for a SS Black LL.

I'm at about 180 to 185 but I'm undecided as to which one to get. Medium or large band

I'm a 178 and the large band was way too big for me. Its range is 180-210 so it makes sense I suppose. The piece of the leather actually came up to the watch case.

In any case, yours and my wrist are close enough that Large maybe too big for you as well. Large is only for 190+ wrists in my opinion.

Anyone using a LL during light workouts, etc?

If I go with this band, I don't want to have to switch to a sport band every morning just for a quick elliptical run before work.

I definitely like the look of the LL over the sport but am not sure how much versatility I'd be sacrificing.

I hate myself.

Was at mall so stopped in Apple Store and they had all Sport straps in stock. I really don't like the sport straps, but I wanted another strap. Had it narrowed to the green or white. Apple dude finally asked if I needed help deciding and when I said I just wasn't sure, he said "have you thought about the LL on your watch, it is a great looking band". I said you guys don't have the LL in stock, so it doesn't matter, he said "yes we do"....

So I bought a black LL medium for my 42mm Space gray sport.

The ends seem to fit the watch perfectly. And I do love the very slight color difference and the texture is great. I really like the fit over the sport for me. It is very comfortable. It is a great band. But not anywhere near worth the price. But will get me through till get some adapters and other options.

I just hate the cost.

That almost happened to me. Luckily for my wallet they didn't have the Blue LL in stock after I tried it on. However, it's been haunting me since then and now I'm thinking I'll probably give in and end up hating myself too.

I wore it most of yesterday other than while working out. Comfortable.

I'm going to try to reverse the top and bottom pieces. Since I got the smaller band the loop part (with silver trim) is fairly high up on the outside of my wrist when I raise my arm to look at the time. I think it might look better if that loop was not visible to others.

Tho I like that the loop isn't directly under your wrist as that way it doesn't interfere with typing.

It's a cool, cool band that does a good job of being modern yet casual and fine for formal settings. I like how you have the option to reverse the positioning of the loop's tongue if you want. Wearing it the standard way must be different since most people have grown accustomed to the tongue facing out instead of in on most traditional/classic bands.

Got a blue leather loop with my silver sport and loving it so far - think it goes really well and it's very comfortable.

Doesn't really look good to me, not the aluminum silver goes with anything but sports bands, same with space grey

I for one think it looks great with both aluminum and sg. These might be the only bands that do but they look fantastic with them.

I bought the black leather loop about a week ago for my sport. Yesterday when putting on a backpack I caught my watch on the strap, the leather loop buckle gave loose and my watch fell to the ground. I've already initiated a replacement with AppleCare this is just a warning to be more careful than me:). I may buy a nylon monowear band for weekends out with the kids and save the leather loop for work.

I've heard this story from a few people. The LL is a great strap but this is an unfortunate drawback. May I ask how far around your strap goes around your wrist? Does the end get close to the case? I'm thinking that having more length will help with this issue, and if the strap doesn't end under your wrist then there's less chance snagging it on something.

Hard to covey that in writing so I took some pictures for reference.

In all fairness, with how it caught I think if would have come all the way off regardless of the strap length. I could be wrong though. This is the medium LL. The large one went just up to the watch body for me but technically fit.

Have to say, even tho I still hate myself for spending that much, I love the LL on my SG Sport. I think it is significantly better in every way to the Sport Band. Tho in fairness, that maybe more a reflection of my dislike for the Sport band.

Anyway..3 days in and liking it.

Thanks for the pics. My wrist is 190 mm so I'll be getting a large which will bring the end mostly up the other side. I think that will be somewhat safer, both because the side of my wrist is less likely to brush against something than the underside, and because more magnets will be attached increasing strength. That said, depending on where your wrist size falls between the two sizes, you may or may not be able to get your LL to position that way.

Unlike a typical band the "tongue" on then LL really hugs the main portion of the band. And with no stitching or anything, at first glance you wouldn't even know the tongue was there.

I like it reversed as

Well the issue for me is the silver trim at the loop. If the trim had been black, I probably would not have reversed it. The loop is now "facing" me, rather than outside that most others would see. I believe this gives it a cleaner look. Especially since the magnets keep the tongue close to the main band and thus almost don't notice it. Again, just a cleaner look for others that might see you. Here is what I mean,

This is what is looks like from my (the wearers) point of view when raising the watch,

And what it looks like from others point of view when raising the watch

Either way the loop is not centered under the wrist. At least in my case with my baby wrists using the medium band. This is good for it does not interfere with typing on a keyboard.

And yes, same watch, same wrist. Just really shows the lower quality on the forward facing camera...lol

I love the black leather loop but I just can't justify having two black bands for that price. Anyone want to trade a BSB for either a blue or green SB? I'm kinda serious. Lol
