T-Minus 4 mins till i have left 4 dead up and running

(fingers crossed)
Whoa nelly that's fast! Mine has taken about 24 hours to get to 40% :D though that's with Bioshock, Fallout 3 and some other cheap Steam games too.

I think I figured it out....it's supposedly F14 on the mac keyboard....I'll try it out when I get a chance.

There should be a key set to take screenshots in the options panel. It's F5 in TF2, might be the same for L4D. Just I'd love to see the details of how a MBP renders it (I'll be playing it on my x1600 iMac till I build my first proper gaming PC :)).

I must say this is a pretty addicting game lololol

Next thing i knew it was 3 am....

Highly recommended

Runs very well on a unibody macbook (Stocked +my 500 GB HD upgrade) running in windows XP via bootcamp

Attempting to see how well it works under crossover games so i don't have to reboot every time i want to play it

Hah! Same here. It's 3:16am now and just finished up playing with a friend. Games just awesome. Pure awesome. A little more tiring than Team Fortress 2, doubt it'll pull me away from my daily hour on that :)

Runs okayish on my x1600 iMac. I have everything set to high but in some lowish resolution (somethingx768). Can't wait to play it on the MB.

L4D is outstanding for Coop. I'm playing on a 360 and loving it (allows 2 players to coop offline, splitscreen). The bad thing is you can't tell your A.I party members what to do at crucial times. Sometimes they run off on their own then you have to consider going to save them or not. ;) The game is extremely lineal.

AWFERCHRISSAKE!

text isn't showing up in the menus with crossover. I would use the tf2 alpha hack but i don't know how to with l4d (it doesn't use the hl2.exe like all other source games). Any ideas?

What version of Crossover are you running? I want L4D, but I am not keen on running it in Bootcamp. I am too used to Crossover. If anyone else has had success with this, please post!

I had this problem while running in bootcamp, none of the steam menu text showed for me. After a bit of searching and googling I found a help guide on the steam site that gives you replacement fonts (possibly your windows fonts are corrupted). Solved the problem for me.

@petermcphee: i am using the latest version of crossover games
@Radio Monk33: I'll try that and see how i go (do you have a link?) edit: did you mean steam text or l4d text - cos steam works perfectly, it's l4d that has a problem

MBP 2.33GHz with the X1600 256MB VRAM, 3GB ram getting 30-40FPS with most things on medium and filtering on 2x.

love this game:)

I couldn't get steam's fonts to work, not sure if that would of worked in L4D if I could of made it that far. Not sure what else to try.. :(

x1600?! That's all, heh, I thought you meant a new MacBook Pro. I can only manage this on my x1600 iMac if I want to get it running smoothly :D
The MB runs it sooo much better on the 9400M.

In motion I don't notice them, besides AA really kills performance. I'd rather up the texture quality/effects than AA :)

If it's going too slow for anyone there's a line you can add in the console to turn off the HDR effect.

yea its pretty smooth in gameplay. stills arent as great

Os X or windows?

Are you running this via the os x steam emulator?
or bootcamp with windows?

That game is pretty rad though; I got for xbox360

Bootcamp here on a 2ghz C2D, x1600 o/ced to 450mhz, 3gb Ram but running off an external laptop drive (doubt it impacts on anything except initial loading time). Lowest is 30fps. I don't mind any graphics settings so long as it runs smooth.

Just bought the game today - it's amazing. Boot Camp via a Mac Pro w/8800 GT here, so I can turn all the options up and get a decent framerate. :)
