WIth crappy Moto X priced at $625 OFF CONTRACT (ATT), the G2 could give it a run for its money if its under $700 unlocked.
Just about all flagships are priced around $550-$650 off contract. I expect the G2 to be no different.

Looks nice but I have some reservations about LG's update policies since they are not known for dishing out timely updates.
I don't think any OEMs are to be honest. Samsung is probably the best and even then it usually takes them a while. My policy when buying a non stock phone is to make sure it's how I want when I buy it and not rely on getting any updates. If you don't like how it is out of the box don't buy it and anticipate updates.

In case anyone missed it...a bit more information on the G2. This thing is really looking like a beast now! Micro SD support AND a removable battery? Yes please!

I'm definitely excited to see this phone. But I won't buy it. I'm all Nexus.

Then you're in luck, as the G2 will give us an idea what to expect from the next Nexus (Nexus G anyone? )
I am too.
Funny, I'd get the Galaxy S4 Active if I could - for the sake of physical ones (can't get it through my carrier here though)
It's a matter of preference really. For example, I am learning to love the soft buttons on my Nexus 4. But the idea of always having a single physical button to start voice actions without ever looking at the phone (iPhone) is a good idea.

Not enough difference to get me to drop my Galaxy S4. Holding out to take a hard look at the Note 3. But it still looks like a super phone. LG doesn't have a great rep for updates though.
LG's software isn't as smooth as Touchwiz either.
Historically at least. Maybe that will change.
It's gonna have a 2.3 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 800. It better be smooth...
