Just about all flagships are priced around $550-$650 off contract. I expect the G2 to be no different.

Looks nice but I have some reservations about LG's update policies since they are not known for dishing out timely updates.

I don't think any OEMs are to be honest. Samsung is probably the best and even then it usually takes them a while. My policy when buying a non stock phone is to make sure it's how I want when I buy it and not rely on getting any updates. If you don't like how it is out of the box don't buy it and anticipate updates.

True but they (Samsung) are surely a hell lot better than Sony when updates are concerned. Though Sony is catching up.

I'm not so much interested in the G2 as I am for the potential for this to be the basis for the Nexus 5.

Anyone think because this has the 800 processor this is gonna have better battery life and be faster due to a lighter skin?

Also since the Optimus isn't well k own like the galaxy brand maybe the price will drop faster and I can trade my iPhone for one.

It's a matter of preference really. For example, I am learning to love the soft buttons on my Nexus 4. But the idea of always having a single physical button to start voice actions without ever looking at the phone (iPhone) is a good idea.

I am more annoyed about constantly hitting the back button on my S3, kicking me out of games for example, especially when you hold it in landscape mode ...

But neither is the mighty Samsung. The Note 2 still waiting on the 4.2 update, that was released way back in November, and ten months later, the N2 is still on 4.1 :rolleyes:

Great phone but...

Not enough difference to get me to drop my Galaxy S4. Holding out to take a hard look at the Note 3. But it still looks like a super phone. LG doesn't have a great rep for updates though.

LG's software isn't as smooth as Touchwiz either.

Historically at least. Maybe that will change.

Are you serious with this? Have you actually USED the OG and compared it to even the S4 or One? I've used a lot of smartphones in my time and, without a doubt, the OG is the fastest, smoothest software I've ever used. Ever. On any device (iPhone, S4, and One included). It's insane how quick it is. Anyone that says it's not or has lag either has a bias against LG or hasn't ever used one in day-to-day life.
