I saw a hint of lag in the G2 also, the N5 did not have any lag. Although with the skin and extra goodies its expected.

Went again today to check out the LG G2 because I may change my SGS3 for this or the Nexus 5, and saw again lots of lag across the whole UI. WTF? Really?

I even updated the store phone to the latest version thinking it would be smoother but nothing.

Is really this LG G2 the only one with lag or do all of them have it? I can honestly say my SGS3 has less lag. Seriously.

I want to buy the LG G2 over the Nexus because of better battery life, camera and I can get it cheaper.

What do you guys recommend? LG G2 or Nexus 5? Which would be the better upgrade from a SGS3?

I just bought a LG G2 around 3 weeks ago, and i have to say the lag you experienced at the store unit should not be happening on a new unit. Like what others have said, it's probably been used countless times by hundreds of customers, expect some regression in the performance.

The LG G2 has a better camera and better battery life than the Nexus 5, that i can assure you. And the killer 'Knock On' feature is so useful; up till now, i've only used the lock button at the back probably only once or twice.

Everyone has their own preference, it's up to you.

On a side note, I can't wait for the official android 4.4 software to be ready for updating.

----------

When the G2 gets 4.4, you can out it in ART runtime and it will be faster. Just dont know when it will get 4.4 but ive seen rumblings.

What do you mean by 'out it in ART runtime'?? o_O

I would assume that's a typo and it should say 'put it in ART runtime'.

Ohhh I see .

Hope LG brings Kit Kat to the G2 ASAP. I'm looking forward to Project Svelte on my G2; the available RAM from my day-to-day usage always seems to linger around 500-800MB figures...

So I had to return my Moto X due to not having enough storage and am having problems ordering the 32gb version from at&t. Its been a couple weeks now and if it isn't sorted by the end of the week I may ask them to ship me a different phone and thinking about getting this one. My big concern is the software, as I have played with the store model and it seems as bloated as my Note 3, and I really liked the near stock experience of the Moto X.

I'm not sure how flashing ROMs works, so I wanted to ask some questions. Is it difficult? It would be the at&t model. I would be looking for a ROM very similar to the Moto X or Nexus. Also, how feature complete are the ROMs? I've heard of stories where after flashing, a feature won't work or won't be available (such as the IR blaster or knock on), is this still the case? How is stability? I'm someone that likes my phone to be rock solid, I don't have the patience to be constantly rebooting, it bugs me if things don't just work. The stock skin seems to have some lag, similar to my Note 3, would a custom ROM improve performance? Also, how does it affect app performance? Could it make 3rd party apps from the app store act all buggy? I do use a lot of apps from the app store and their stability and performance are very important for me. Would the new ROMs have all the features of kit kat, or do they just look like kit kat?

Sorry for all the questions, I am new to this. I really like the hardware and just trying to figure out if I can make this phone work for me or keep waiting to see if at&t can sort things out and get me a 32gb Moto X.

saw an update message, got so excited I re-flashed stock recovery ready to install. Actually looked at the notification, isn't KK, don't know whether to bother installing it now.

people have been raving about the phones battery life being great but i have had this phone for like 3 months and i feel the battery has been getting worse....

I get like 6 hours use when i use the internet non stop and tbh i hear people say they can use their phone for like 2 days

Should i return it to my network provider?

Mine doesn't get great battery life, but home and work have poor reception. My previous two phones were an HTC Rezound with an extended battery and an HTC 8X and my G2 easily outlasts both of them.

Hmm its odd because the lg g2 was supposed to have awesome battery life unless we just have faulty phones?

Mine isn't faulty, I'm usually in a poor reception area. At work I barely get 3G and home isn't much better. When I'm in an area with good signal my battery does well. My G2 usually does better than my wife's Note 2.

Have you installed any battery monitoring apps to see what's hurting your battery?

I feel like must people don't use their phone nonstop for 2 days. They're just saying they can go for up to two days off the charger. 6 hours of continuous web browsing via LTE is very good battery life.

Nah do you recommend any? What app is the best to use?

Just got me and the wife a G2 this past weekend. Coming from the GS3, i love it! I was looking hard at the Nexus 5, but the G2 is equal or better in every category as far as im concerned. Only the price and being pure android is in Nexus 5 favor. Knock feature is awesome, i dont find the LG software to be bad at all, unlike samsung. The battery life and camera is what sold me.

I still have my S3 as a backup, yesterday I grabbed it and held it against my G2, they are nearly the same size, but the G2 has a 0,4" bigger display, which is really noticeably.

Anyway, still love my G2, for me nearly a perfect smartphone.

Carriers for my country just released the 4.4 Kit Kat update for the LG G2 yesterday night. First impressions after using it for a few hours this morning: overall the phone feels snappier, Knock-on is noticeably quicker and I love the new status bar and full screen for some apps.

But can't seem to find the option to enable ART in my developer options for some reason. Was looking forward to test it out. But as of now, I'm quite impressed with the update :)

Its probably been removed. The only phones I have seen with ART on kit kat are the nexus phones, the moto x, moto g, and anything running a 4.4 aosp rom.
