Sounds great, thanks for sharing your thoughts
Only downside of the G4 could be the battery life, according to some reviews and most of the testers sharing their thoughts over on XDA.
That would be a deal breaker. But with a 3000 mAh battery you would think it would not an issue huh?
I had the G3 and the battery life was extremely variable. Some days, it wouldn't die, other times gone by 4pm. But...
The thing I'm really realising with Android is that battery is massively dependent on what apps you use.
I use Google Maps 2-3 times a day, and that kills every single battery, iOS or Android, whichever manufacturer. So as long as I use Google Maps, I have to accept that it will kill 1% every 2-3 minutes as a standard.
The other specific things are Google Play Services/Facebook and Location (especially when Google Now is busy).
I have recently started using CM Locker as a lockscreen, it's basically almost identical in use to the iOS lockscreen. But it has an awesome feature that kills all apps that are draining the battery, every time you lock the screen. It has added SO MUCH battery life to my Sony Z3 Compact.
As for the G4, I'd expect it to be similar to the G3, with plus or minus 10% depending on how you use it. The G4 is a definite step up in build quality over the G3.
The only thing is I didn't particularly like the brown leather version, it didn't feel amazing in hand and the colour is a bit too light - BUT that was the dummy model so hopefully that's the issue.
The black leather looks to be the classiest option thus far maybe.
The camera was quick, the phone as a whole was just a step up from the G3 in every way. I think the staff had literally just put it out, because I had to set up the entire thing lol.
At the right price, it's a great phone and I did love 90% of the G3. So let's see
