Seem to be advertising it a lot lately here. Haven't seen one in the wild anywhere though.
Haven't seen one in the wild either. But when I was at a TMO store a couple weeks ago. I overheard a sales rep pitching it to a customer. He went on to tell her it had the best camera...longest lasting battery and was the best selling phone they had.......It was all I could do not to interrupt and add my 2 cents. :)

From all the comparisons I've seen, the G5 may indeed have the best camera of the current flagships. But that's where its triumphs end in my opinion. S7 edge is superior in design, battery life, and being waterproof. While the HTC 10 is superior in audio, build quality/materials, and stabilization of both cameras thanks to dual OIS. It's such a good year to be a smartphone enthusiast, because even being the "weakest" of the top 3 Android flagships the G5 is still fantastic.

Well two of those are correct. Can't comment on the sales numbers for that store though.

hmmmmm the reviews I read doesn't agree with you on battery life and neither do i...
Camera reviews don't agree with it being the best either

The G5 has a 2880 mAh battery was not rated the best by any review i read.

You have to be biased to not see the G5 takes the best pictures. Dual lens options, not over sharpened or overblown colors like with the Samsung processing. And add the camera module, no contest at all. Maybe the camera app is a better experience on other phones, I can't say (speed, focus, etc). But the pictures speak for themselves.

G5 has removable battery. Technicality, but that does give it longer you can go without a charger. And I assume a modular battery that is much bigger is in the works as well. Having that option is a great selling point.

I think the camera is awesome. But that doesn't make it the best now does it.....Maybe a little of your bias is showing here?
Then for battery life..... Why would you consider an add on module when considering battery life? If i was going to carry an extra accessory. I would carry an external battery. I have an Anker 20000 mah external battery i use all the time for my devices. Using this external battery also means I don't have to turn my phones off and go through the whole boot cycle. So add ons don't count. Unless I can use my external battery and now claim that as battery life for all my phones?

So what phone do you think has the best looking pictures?

When the whole purpose of the phone in the case of the G5 is add-ons, yes they count.
Generally most say the s7/S7 edge do and I would agree.certainly better than on my 6s plus

I second the vote for the S7/edge as the best pictures and better camera software as well.
The battery add on is a gimmick. I can carry a external battery and plug my phone in and have better functionality. I can do this without having to power my phone down replace the battery then wait for it to power back up again. Then depending on the external battery....you can power up other devices as well....multiple times!

Then would you say the G5 camera is better than HTC 10?

Absolutely. It is the best camera of the flagships this year (so far).

S7 processing is oversharpened and blown out, HTC 10 has the opposite issues. G5 seems about perfect right in the middle. The 135 degree camera is just awesome too. But sadly I must say I will never be able to personally experience this because I just don't like the phone.

So who here actually has the phone?
great point....I don't have the phone myself.
So tell us about the G5? How has the camera and battery life been for you? Do you change batteries? Have you used the camera module?

Battery life is typical android. It can range from 3.5 hrs of screen time to close to 5 hrs. It all depends on what I'm doing through out the day. Always ON Display is a must have feature and I seriously wish all manufacturers implement this. I haven't taken much photos but from what I've taken it has easily beat out my iPhone 6s Plus in the amount of detail it retains. I've had a few autofocus issues when trying to shoot macro shots but most of the time the focus is quick. The front facing camera is superb and great at taking selfies and for video chat. I have used the spare battery pack more often then I thought I would have. It's nice knowing I can replace my battery if I'm at a job site or taking a long commute. Fast charging is great too and should be a standard. It run programs and games fine but nothing will beat how IOS can run programs efficiently. I got the 360 cam module but seriously have no need for it. Maybe I'll use it when I go to New York Comic Con.

It's funny, I've had this phone for weeks and stated so but no one here has cared to find out how it fares in daily use. The vitoral about QC issues and battery life that spread in the first few weeks were unfortunate and mired a great piece of kit LG created. The G5 is one of the few phones that still have Multi LED notification, SD card support and a removable battery. Coupled with the fantastic Cameras, fast fingerprint reader, Always On Display. It's hands down the best android phone I've owned.

Thanks for the feedback.

Couple of Q..

How is the screen ? Reports were that is was very dull and poor outdoors ?

Also is there any themes on the LG Store that can replicate stock android ?

The screen is vivid and bright in regular viewing situations. Viewing angles are good but not as good as Samsung's screens. I do wish it could get a bit brighter in direct sunlight. Supposedly with auto brightness on it can get extra bright compared to adjusting manually. I don't use auto brightness so I have no idea if that works.

The theme engine is superficial. You can only change the wall paper, icons and fonts.

With root finally achieved on the G5, and the good deals carriers are giving on this phone, it's not a bad phone at all. One of my good clients has one, he was in last week, and he knows I'm a phone nerd, let me play with it for a bit, and I was really shocked in a good way, the G5 looked cool as hell, the dark grey version, and the phone felt very fluid and super smooth, and the size seemed nice, not phablet large, but also not a silly little iPhone either, a nice middle ground.

This phone running CM13 would be pretty sweet. Just a matter of time till that comes out now.

I still have the old original OnePlus One, and running the latest CM13 ROM, is AMAZING, it makes the old OPO feel fresh and new still, CM13 makes the phone so smooth and fast, it does not feel that dated like plenty of other two year old phones.

CM13 on a new 2016 flagship device is as good as it gets IMO :) :)

totally agree...CM13 is a great blend of just enough stock Android but with a ton of features and customizations.
