Nokia N95 was my all time favorite phone. It was $500 back in the day and it was awesome. It was a head of its time, 8GB internal storage, built in GPS navigation, microSD card slot, 5mbp camera, the list goes on and on.

Yep... people loved the Nokia N95. Lots of things on the list for sure.

Some things that were not on the list: no touchscreen or stylus like Palm and Windows Mobile of the time... no keyboard like Blackberry and others...

So what was it? A fancy feature-phone? :p

I understand that it had a lot of features that other phones did not... but it was also missing some pretty big features too (QWERTY keyboard, touchscreen, etc)

Sure... it had GPS navigation... but you were still tapping-out a text message on the T9 keypad? :D

Really? Get out of here. I'm not saying the design is great. I much prefer android hardware at this point. Stop talking out your ass.
Lol. Is that your response!?
I made some educated comments my friend.. most of the other responses to your thread seem to agree with me.. yet I'm the one talking out of my ass? Hmm.

They copied the curved glass into the body and stainless steel frame thats going into the 8 basically spot on. I can't imagine the iPhone will be much different on the outside than this.

LG launch the V30 which is an evolution of the G6 from earlier in the year, and does so BEFORE the iPhone 8 is even announced but 'THEY' copied ? Yeah great logical argument going on there.

Don't really see the V30 resemblance, but even if it did...so what?

The only new features the new iPhone will bring to the market will be the Visual ID (at least Apple's version of it) and the new gestures/no home button.

everything else came out on Android first for the most part.

The face unlock isn't new. It's been featured on other android phones, including the latest form Samsung and LG.

Having no physical home button isn't new, Android has been doing that as well for years.

Let's stop being ridiculous/dilusional.

Someone isn't copying Apple if they release it first.

Everyone is copying everyone. If anything, the rumored iPhone copies the Galaxy line, and various other Android features/hardware.

Another example....the new sony smart speaker looks very similar to the homepod. I can understand the whole "copied" thing there; but Amazon beat everyone to the punch, and started it all. So essentially, apple copied Amazon.

Apple, largely, takes previously released hardware/features and either perfects it (more so in the last, with the og iPhone or iPad), or putd their own spin on it, and apple fans view it as original (oled iPhone 8, ears pods, 4k Apple TV, homepod, apple pencil, etc). Unfortunately for Apple, they are no longer leaving the competition in the dust. That is great for the consumer, as we get a variety of high quality choices.

Will Apple's first autonomous car somehow be retroactively original, and Google copied them?

Apple does always set the standard for high prices, though.

What the hell are you on about? You need much bigger glasses then those in your avatar photo if you think that! If anything LG have copied Samsungs design language.. not some as yet unlaunched unseen Apple device..

I think it is more the other way around...... the new IP8 is copying the Android phones with smaller bezels
I'm just talking about the frame of the phone not the actual screen. The way it's shaped with the aluminum and the glass.

I shouldn't really reply to you as you're beyond help matey but I had to bite!
So you're talking about the frame.. the way it's shaped with the Aluminium and the glass?
Let me ask you a question.. have you been hiding under a rock? Samsung have been doing that combo for years.. starting from the Galaxy S6!?

You need to gie up. We're iving in a world where Android manufacturers are accused of "copying" and iPhone "sees what others are doing and make it better" even when they do the same things. Either that or its labeled under "obvious stuff that Android didn't invent"

The only logical solution is that the android oems are using a time machine. Go into the future see what Apple are doing and then go back in time to copy it for their own phones.

No such devices on the market to copy called the iPhone 8, so who copied what from whom?

Yep, rectangle, glass and edges...
But every iPhone does seem to be following the last S device..

Hope it’s better as you can beat those with a static photograph of the users face
Who's really going to have a picture of you? Someone you know. If someone you know is trying to get into your phone but then there are other ways to do that. Like using your finger to unlock whilst your asleep.

A common thief off the street won't have a picture of you.

Unless he snaps your face when stealing your phone, much easier and quicker than trying to get your fingerprints. E.g. guy walks up takes a photo of you, his accomplice comes from behind and grabs your phone.

Boom, they have your phone and it’s unlocked. Of course it’s for this very reason that Samsung only allow it to unlock some features and require an fingerprint or passcode for the secure stuff.

The theif most likely won't even know what phone you have. They just snatch and grab. Let alone that you have face unlock enabled.

However the best idea is as you say to use a combination of unlocking methods to make it more secure. If Apple are doing away with Touch ID then having face unlock alone isn't a good idea.
