Could they be made in another part of the world, then shipped to China for assembly, like the Italian leather? Do the bands have a made in xxx?

I was wondering if the spaceblack DLC process is also done in another part of the world, meaning more ship time per batch.

In the midst of the preordering at 3am. I made a split decision. I was gonna order the 38mm link watch and add a black sport band separate. But when I saw the watch shipped in 4-6 weeks but the SS BSB shipped April 24th, I decided to reserve and get the sport band SS watch on 24th and add the band separate. Looks like it paid off.

You and I were on the same wavelength. I did exactly the same when ordering my husband's Apple Watch (anniversary gift that I needed by 4/30).

He was bummed to have to wait for the link band, but he likes the BSB for workouts.

My link band is preparing for shipment, too. I haven't told him yet. He's gonna be stoked.

Meanwhile, I took the 38mm ML instead of the Modern Buckle one I wanted for the same reason... shipping delays... and now? I cannot even ORDER the Modern Buckle to wait and get it later.

LOL. Apple.

This pisses me off as someone who woke up and ordered the watch + link bracelet at 3:01 am

How come? I was up at midnight, ordering watches just like you. :)

Yours is gonna come soon. These bands just didn't need to be attached to watches and the packaging that comes with watches is a bit more complex than a blister pack for a single bracelet.

This is a very good sign, these bracelets moving during the expected shipping window.

----------

But why ship a standalone accessory before the watch that comes with it? It doesn't make any sense, whether they announced it beforehand or not.

But... they DID announce it beforehand.

If they had not? I'd be completely behind all the outrage I've seen on here about the order of shipments.

Everyone who ordered here had the power to do what I did and what Southernboyj did on launch day while ordering their watches.

Yes. For Apple. And with a good deal of your cash. :D

Apple made 50 more dollars off of those of us who went for the SS Sport Band watch and a separate link band.

Yes. Their dastardly plan has been revealed.

I'd already planned to buy a sport band for each watch, anyway. So, I think I came out pretty good on this deal. Link band is prepping for shipment as we type.

Oops. I thought you gave them, $1,049.00. Didn't realize you got a discount.

Don't get me wrong I've tried on the Link Bracelet and really liked the feel. And I can afford it. I just don't know that as wearable tech with planned obsolescence, that the link band price is justified. I would like to think it will hold up and look good and be transferable to version 2 and so on. But I think that $450 for just that band was a little steep even for Apple.

You can tell me all day long about the great innovation that it can be resized without any tools, but the truth is that I've never had to resize any link watch band more than one time after purchase. I don't need to change the size on a daily basis.

For a high quality link bracelet, it's a bargain.

Sure it is Danny boy! Based on the big demand here, If I could get any of the high quality SS bands from my Seiko's or even Tags to fit the A watch, I would be setting up shop today. Make no mistake, I waste money on the overpriced computers. I am into regular watches, I'm just floored Apple is selling a plain SS watch band for that kind of money and getting it all day. Fairy dust!

I have them 998 dollars, before tax. Which seems reasonable for a SS watch and two bands.

Pfft, I just built a $2,000 gaming PC instead of buying the retina iMac (it was between the two). That'll show them! Nevermind the fact that I just blew $1,000 on a watch.

I sure showed them... I think

Haha, for real though. I cannot believe I just spent that much on a watch. If I don't absolutely love this band, I'm gonna exchange it for a Milanese Loop.

I'm 120 miles from an Apple Store so I couldnt just go try one on.

I was going to order the classic buckle and link bands, regardless. It was either order the AW w/ Link or the AW w/ BCB and order the other band separately. It was pretty obvious which one to choose based on shipping times.

On a side note, I don't really like the leather on the classic buckle, I'm really psyched you can swap out the current band for a third party band. I'll be swapping it out for a nice panerai band with a deployment clasp.

I tried on the Apple Watch twice now. The Link feels fantastic. Perfect weight to it. Personally I don't think the Sport is worth $400. The Stainless is worth $600 but really the only band I really like is the Link. But I don't see value in it at $1,000. I am just talking 42mm prices. I think they overpriced all the bands, especially the Link. The engineering is great but overdone in the case of the Link. A nice Movado is about $1,000 with a link band. A Tag will set you back twice that. But both those watches are timepieces you have for a long time and you are paying mostly for the watch not the band. The Apple Watch is almost 50/50 and the watch portion isn't collectible. It's tech. And tech loses value and has to be replaced.

I think the Milanese is cool looking but even though I'm not a manly man, it is just too metrosexual/effeminate.

Got my link bracelet today here in Germany.

The packaging is a bit more extravagant than the one from the other bands.
Was hoping to get the cleaning cloth which comes with the watch with attached link bracelet but thats no big deal. ;)
Overall I am totally satisfied with the bracelet :D
