So, just wanted to make this thread dedicated towards speculation about new MBA tomorrow, alongside Lion.

Any more evidence of it being released tomorrow?

Do you think it will?

Maybe tomorrow, maybe Friday, maybe the 29th.

Thank God for work. If I didn't have the distraction, all the waiting would drive me insane.

>_<

Right now I'm in the middle of selling my MacBook to a guy. I need the funds for that to pay for a new MB.

Before, I could have sold it but wouldn't quite have enough for any MB.
Right now, if it goes through I'll have enough for the 13 MBP at least.

I'm supposed to make the face to face sale today, but he's moving out of his apartment, so the wait has been KILLING me.

I'm also on summer break, and it's been very, VERY boring; I've been saving every article I want to read in R.I.L so i'll have a LOT of stuff to do with my new MBP/MBA.

On top of that, I have to use my mom's laptop (Windows) as I have saved everything to my TC 2 weeks ago.

You have no idea how bad it is.

I work at home, so the waiting is killing me. Have Twitter open just watching MacRumors and 9to5 really excited about tomorrow since the original rumors was that they were all going to come out together.

I think the new MBA will come out tomorrow. If not then it will probably before the end of the month

I wouldn't get my hopes up. I think there would be more solid rumors by now that the MBAs were in fact coming. Perhaps more "sources" may come forward within the next few hours and confirm tomorrow's release.

I don't know how it is in an Apple store these days but it used to be only the Manager knew the night before and the Macs might even arrive till the next day.

I think we have had enough proof. What more is there?

Oh I dunno, maybe something that's actual proof and not speculation based on personal opinion. There has been zero proof. No stock numbers, no new mystery boxes delivered today, no website slip-ups... just photos of Lion on MacBook Airs, which isn't really saying anything because it looks like the same model as has been out for 10 months to me, and it is Apple's most iconic laptop, so not shocking they use it in the promo shots.

There has been zero proof, stop spreading misinformation.

An email from Steve Jobs saying, "They're out tomorrow. Now shut up about it."

I laugh at all the people who want to believe so bad that they fabricate evidence in their mind to make themselves believe. Guess that's how organized religion grips the flyover states, haha

Wait, how am I spreading misinformation or fabricating evidence? Isn't that what you were doing with your thread about the 'do not open' boxes?

By saying we have had enough proof, I was stating my opinion. It's not like they need some big event to launch the new Airs. If you don't think we have had enough, well then that's your POV.

as sad as this makes me to say, i think it's doubtful they'll come out tomorrow. for one, why would apple want to steal thunder from lion? seems more likely that a friday or next week launch makes more sense. i have nothing to base this on.

but also, there has been lots of lion material spotting out and about but no documented macbook air spotting, as someone previously said. no boxes, no stock numbers, no sightings, ect.

i really hope i'm wrong. i'm just setting my expectations low in case it doesn't happen for tomorrow.

No. You stated "It's proven they're coming soon" ... I said nothing aside from there were DO NOT OPEN boxes, and I made it very clear it could simply be a desk chair for the store manager. You take a piece of information, speculate, then call that speculation fact. I take a piece of information and say odds are it's nothing. If you chose to assume something from nothing, that's your prerogative.

Hopefully tomorrow.

To release Lion then wait a few days for the Air would be sort of twisted, don't you think?

Even for Apple. ;)

If you had two things that would drive people into your store, would you release them both the same day so people only go into the store once, or release them on different days so the customers go into the store twice? I'm not sure why people don't get this theory. It's always in a company's best interest to create as many separate excuses for a customer to enter the store as possible.

What about the whole argument that apple was waiting to release the MBA's for the sole purpose of wanting to give the customer the best of the best of apple hardware/software from the first moment?

Would make sense, but in the flip side, it's never been an issue in the past. Most refreshes happened near the time of a new OS they just slip in a disk at point of sale. Now it's even easier, they just put a sticker on the box with a code for free download.

I can't think of a time when they've released an OS and a laptop the same day... just doesn't make sense. From a PR standpoint it's not typical.

why would people go into the store for lion when it is strickly an app store download? i don't care how many hours it takes me to download over my wifi connection, i'm not driving to an apple store (10 min), dealing with parking and the in store mob that is always there, in this heat.

except that is, for a new air. that's different.

right, so apple wants to release with lion but that doesn't mean it has to be released *the very same day*.

then again, this is a fairly minor update and not a huge overhaul, so maybe it's not a big deal to apple to release at the same time.

Keep in mind the stores aren't there for you and me, they're there for Grandma who has an iPhone 3G with 768 apps, all of which were free, and who needs help every time she upgrades her OS.

It's not that the goal isn't to upsell, of course it is... but the thing is if they get a buzz for releasing a new OS tomorrow, lots of new feet will come through the doors. If they then release a new laptop next week, lots MORE new feet. :)

I've been using it for a week... it's far more of an update than Leopard to Snow Leopard, but that didn't stop Apple for making it sound like the greatest thing since sliced Apples. hehe
