right, so apple wants to release with lion but that doesn't mean it has to be released *the very same day*.

then again, this is a fairly minor update and not a huge overhaul, so maybe it's not a big deal to apple to release at the same time.

I know there aren't going to be any physical changes, but I would still argue that this is a major upgrade--the one that will take the Air from a niche product to the mainstream. 2GB->4GB RAM, 64/128GB->128/256GB SSD, +backlit keyboard, +ix processor will make a big difference.

To us, but they've been selling like hotcakes as it is, so clearly most people are content with the existing specs. It's not a major revision, it's just a spec bump.

If you had two things that would drive people into your store, would you release them both the same day so people only go into the store once, or release them on different days so the customers go into the store twice? I'm not sure why people don't get this theory. It's always in a company's best interest to create as many separate excuses for a customer to enter the store as possible.

Two things that would drive people into the stores? As much as I love OSX, I don't think Lion alone could pull in massive traffic into the stores. Also, most people can buy it from the Mac App store so there's no need to go in to make the purchase.

I pretty much guarantee that no MBA will be released tomorrow. If there was we would of seen some photos leaked by now. Possibly next week.

But essentially people won't be heading for the store for lion as it's an app store download, maybe a few to download it there with slow connections.

I think they probably will release the MBA today, just a gut feeling

Agreed and we've all waited so long + It doesn't make sense if they don't. They've had them in storage for a month or two now.

There were sources of that weeks ago on the front page buddy.

Can you please link me to evidence that they're in storage? I read the front page daily and I've never seen such. The closest I have seen were part numbers someone assumed were MB Air part numbers, which later were corrected to point to new monitor part numbers.

Again, just because you chose to read into something, doesn't make it true.

Wrong, part numbers assumed to be the Macbook (white one) were actually new monitors. With Apple stating on their conference call they have some hardware changes this quarter they aren't willing to discuss yet. It leaves me to believe the Macbook will be gone and the Macbook Air will become the low end option.
