The Michigan store said that they got 2 in the mail yesterday (on display) and that if they get more this afternoon (they expect to) that they will put them on sale.
I just called and they are not getting another shipment until sunday and they only have 1 on display.

They have a few for sale now at SoHo Store

Just bought MBA 1.8 ssd at Apple store SoHo. It comes with its own paper bag like the iPhone.

Wauwatosa WI-Apple Store (no luck)

Just called, they have 2 demo units, none for sale. Advised to order online. Uhh, yea.

Ardmore store by philadelphia.

Display unit-supposedly no stock.

The demo unit is the 80g pata drive. It works great. Turns on as soon as you open it, and standard video clips played fine-although anyone buying it for video editing would really be fooling themselves.

The worker was really nice, and might of slipped up. He said-yeah wegot them in last night, but can't sell...then he stammered around and said they just had a display model, and that the delay is because of weather problems screwing up key shipment planes. He then inferred that a apple wanted all locations to be in stock before allowing them to ship.

At anyrate, in person it really is an amazing machine-and incredibly sturdy. Even though its really light it feels sturdier than my 12" PowerBook!

The Village Pointe Apple Store in Omaha, NE has them on display but not on sale yet. I guess not enough to sell.

QUOTE=NC MacGuy;4872705]Until Apple changes MBA from pre-order to now shipping on its website I think anyone expecting to buy one via retail store may be out of luck. Not a single verified retail purchase yet.

/agree

It still shows pre-order when I look at the site

I imagine it smokes the old 12" powerbook but I loved mine and hope this is a suitable replacement. How many bounces to open app.'s?
More and more the story is that apple is waiting for some predetermined time to announce they're available at retail stores. Go figure...

Called South Hills Village in Pittsburgh

"We've got them on display but not for sale. We're hoping for Tuesday to have them for sale"
