argh, been my MBA has been just chilling out in china, hanging out on a jet way for the last 32 hours, Delivery isn't until Thursday, LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOONGEST 2 days of my life coming up... this is taking way to long. I know the people at FedEx IPD by name now from calling for updates every 2 hours, no point in calling any more now, its after 1am in China. Guess its going to be just hanging out for another day while I wait for the Chinese to nurse their new years hangovers and decide to get back to work! :mad: j/k

Just wondering:

Does that mean its on the plane? that was from simpletrack.com, but fedex IPD says its still in china. Just wondering, becouse on some of the other tracking screen shots the next stop was Alaska.... Just cant seem to get a straight answer on this =]

I ordered on jan 23rd and still dealing with this nightmare, though I did hear that EDU orders get low priority... What a way to earn brand loyalty!!!

Mine has left China, schedule delivery 2/14.

I ordered an MBR shortly after they were announced, while traveling in Germany. When I got a delivery window, it turns it was going to be while I was out of the country again and there would be nobody to sign for it. Apple wouldn't delay my shipping, so I canceled the order and ordered again -- this was Jan 25th. I took the opportunity to go with the faster processor but still with an old fashion twirly disk rather than the SSD.

The superdrive and ethernet dongle arrived last week.

Since I didn't have any decent wireless, I ordered a Time Capsule as well but that is, I guess, stuck in a Time Warp (tm) somewhere :)

Guess are MBA's are making there way across the pacific together, Using CyberGypsie's waybill as a guide they should arrive in Alaska in less then two hours. If not I am guessing they are still stuck in china

Another education customer with similar woos. Ordered 2 airs (1.8/64) on Jan 18. As of last week the ship date was listed as 2/11 :D
As of today, the ship date is 3/5 :eek::mad:

I called and spoke to a rep. He started by telling me that what he was about to tell me was the truth and not just a run around (translation: I feel bad about giving you the run around). It was a long and twisted tale of Chinese new years, storms, and intense demand. I fired back with a list of the inequities I have seen through this site such as people that order comparable configurations AFTER me that have ALREADY received there orders. He upgraded my shipping and said he would put my order on "priority status". I'm sure he was just pandering to the customer, but we'll see.

Just to be clear, I have been on apple ass about this order. I wanted it yesterday, Hit them with a " I can get it from amazon fast then from you" and bang free over night. Then I was pissed they where in the stores just not in a 1.8/80 config and wanted to know why. I was also told at the time of order on the phone that the shipping date was a conservative estimate and mine would be there WAY sooner then listed. Called to find out my status and BANG, got a free Ethernet dongle. So I guess the lesson is don't be silent in your discontent about this release. I havn't and although I would have just settled for my MBA two weeks faster I did get EDU Pricing, Priority shipping, Overnight shipping and a Ethernet adapter.

Same flight

Same flight leaves for Indianapolis in 1 1/2 hours for US Customs and half way to my house, So I will know in an hour I guess if its there. Its pretty fun tracking this thing like a maniac!!! :)

Guess its in package limbo some where, They wouldn't confirm or deny any flight information, actually claimed homeland security WHAT A JOKE. When I gave them there flight information and flight times, and even type of aircraft that fly those route they got a little jarred but still would not confirm or deny anything.

I guess becouse its overnight they have done the customs in Alaska rather then Indianapolis.


Cybergypses waybill which is what I am using as my benchmark was cleared for Int'l shipment release in Indianapolis which is supposed to be there primary customs facility.

Amazon orders

Has anyone who ordered on Amazon received any kind of update on their order? It may be nothing, but I noticed that the 1.8/64 was listed as shipping in 1-3 weeks unlike the other 3 configurations which are still all listed as pre-order.

Talk to the IPD department, they said that I may get mine early, although I dont really see how considering it just says thats sitting in Alaska, they said that mine is going direct to TN and then to Orlando, Not sure why mine is skipping Indianapolis but according to this lady it is.... Strange

I'm waiting for that same config from amazon also. I doubt that 1-3 weeks means anything, because mine still has 42 days until its projected shipment. I figure they would at least update my shipping estimate if they knew when a new shipment would be in.
