Noticed on the FedEx website that there shipping from Shanghai. It was picked up but missed the cutoff. Now my order has the status listed as "Shipment Exception". Oh well, I was hoping for a Thursday delivery. Friday is still better than the 2/11 date I had before.

Mine says picked up from Shanghai...but there's a package exception...package received after fedex cutoff.

Don't worry about that. I've had 3 macbooks, 1 macbook pro and 2 imacs shipped to me in the last two years from Shanghai and they all have had package exception error for a short while.

Yepp, seems so... no shipping confirmation outside the US.

I made a mistake to cancel my Apple online order (Feb 5th / Feb 14th) and switched to my local Apple Premium Reseller in Germany. If any store in NYC will get some MBAs... a colleague of mine is still there (until tomorrow).

So has anyone that switched to overnight shipping received a tracking number yet? I wonder if making this switch has somehow affected your position in the shipping queue?
 
fwiw, the online apple store no longer lists the mba as pre-order, although it still says "ships in 2-3 weeks."

if i were to wager a guess, we won't see the mba in the physical stores until friday or the following tuesday. also guessing we won't see 10.5.2 till some time later today or tomorrow.
 
So much for Steve Jobs "It will be released in 2 weeks." Glad to know we can take him for his word. :mad: Its not even so much I mind waiting as it is just tell me the FREAKIN date. Also does anyone think they will pull a special ohh its 6pm they go on sale? (wishful thinking)

I checked Apple.com and its still showing me the pre-order now button.
 
Ugh. I had forgotten that certain ADC store orders after business hours are over don' count until he next morning. All my waffling between the 1.6 and 1.8 probably pushed back my ship date.

Still says "Preorder" for me.

Also, Jobs said it would "ship in 2 weeks", not be "released".
 
does fedex ship saturdays? i'm hoping that my 1.8/80 will go through tomorrow and i'll get it this weekend. fingers crossed...
 
why does mine still say prepared to ship!??!?! I ordered it right after the keynote...I called the bank and there wasn't a problem there...
 
i had tried asking for overnight and they said they could not since it was coming from china. they upgraded me to 2day on both macbook airs.

Sorry about that I stand corrected. The point of it though was WHY cant they just give us a release date instead of cryptic messages of "ship in 2 weeks."

Okay thats fine it ships in two weeks but are these things on a slow boat from China or what? My whole point though was just that for us all wanting to drop the money as bad as we do, we should have a definitive date. Not have to guesstimate.

ah, you're right. my eyes were deceiving me :D

to humor myself, i watched the part of the keynote again and at around 1:11:00 jobs says "commence shipping in 2 weeks." arguably, he's a man of his word.

mine shipped out of Shanghai today and is expected in my hands by Friday (standard shipping as i did not call in time to change it before it prepared!)

ordered the mba standard config right after the keynote
