Any idea why mine says that today is the 18th?? Maybe it'll be delivered on the 18th. Most likely, it probably just means that they have just updated today already and there were no changes so they've moved it on to moday

Today's my day: Shipped :D

The Apple Tracking also says "Ships via TNT International". I would have expected a Kuhne and Nagel Tracking number. Carrier ID has not been posted yet. Does this mean my MBA is already in Europe?

mine has shipped today :)

EDIT - just noticed the online status page of the apple store has now actually given me a new estimated delivery date (from the 12th feb which is said until it shipped) of the 27th of Feb! hope it gets there before then...

on its way

UK macbook air 1.6/64 ordered on the 19th (god it seems ages ago :()

shipped on the 11th feb. currently "In Transit to Customer - Shipment on Schedule 18 Feb 2008" - estimated delivery still 21 feb as quoted.

should've ordered my superdrive, iwork and parallels separately... though i think i'd be even less able to stand this wait if they were here and the macbook air wasn't! :D

Great suggestion! But, you know, it's not that simple keeping everything up-to-date and asking people to add dates if they forgot to do so.

You know what? I'll post the latest version of the list tonight, you can add the arrival dates by yourself, okay?

I guess it's always easier to criticize someone than to do stuff by yourself ...

Looks like someone had a bad day. No need to be rude, dude. I appreciate what you've done here with this list and all, and it was just a suggestion.

Also, late is better than never. Whether it's a list or a Macbook Air.. ;)

edit: new list is great with the additions. Really nice work.

Yeah I stupidly ordered Office 2008 and when I heard that adding items to the order delays it i tried to cancel Office but it was too late. Ah well, ill know for the future jst to order one thing.

As a side note: I ordered my MBA on Jan 21 from an authorized reseller (no apple stores in sweden, plus I really like my local reseller so I'd like to support them as much as possible).

I added an extra Magsafe power adapter (MPA from now on) and an Apple Remote to the order, and guess what? Apparently the remote and MPA have already arrived at the reseller, but the Macbook Airs are nowhere to be found (yet). The Apple remote of course is the same as before, but the MPA is new so they actually got delivered.

So instead of the accessories slowing down the delivery of my MBA, it's the other way around.. ;)

Oh, and for fellow swedes on the forum: Deliveries of MBAs to retail stores seem to be beginning today or early next week.

is it easier to re-install the OS vs just deleting the unwanted applications?

Also do we just delete programs folders in Mac OS vs uninstalling in windows?

Yes, most applications in Mac OS X is "uninstalled" just by deleting their folder. If you really want to get rid of everything you should also delete the apps preferences under ~/Library/Application Support.

Note that there are several exceptions to this - for example Microsoft Office that for some stupid reason saves User data under ~/Documents/Microsoft User Data/

There are a few apps for deleting other apps completely, but I've never felt the need to try one of those. The most well-known would be AppZapper i guess.

Just called TNT and said it should arrive on Monday, because its waiting for the truck to be fully loaded.. so its still waiting there in China..

She said Apple has choosed this delivery method..

Why don't they offer (Free Slow Shipping) & (Charge for Fast Shipping)
Its stupid to give us just 1 slow option.. oh I still don't see that it was FREE shipping anyways.

The MBA that costs $3000 in USA costs $4300 in Sweden.. ok there is 25% taxes so it should be $3750 so where did the $550 go ?

Anybody knows?

Yes. Margins are larger because apple and other companies don't want to lose money if the US Dollar exchange rate is down compared to - for example - the Swedish Krona.

I Apologize if the English is getting worse, I've been on the train the whole day and I'm getting reaaally bored/tired.

Anyway, in Swedish: De kompenserar med större marginal för att inte gå back om valutakursen förändras.

damn my MBA doesn't want to leave the factory and come home :(

24 hrs and still no change in my status, Prepared for shipment

hey its 6 am o'clock at shangai at the moment. Hope it's going to send the mba in the morning.

Looking at other forums about Apple's way of delivering stuff in the past, I think we might see 'assigned carrier' switching to UPS or TNT today or tomorrow, with working tracking information, too ...

Fingers crossed!

Uhhh, good call from my side, this time ;) Now having a working tracking number and a carrier (UPS). Should arrive on Monday ...

Mine arrived Gothenburg - Sweden (Where I live) today at 7am

So its exactly 30min away from me

But will get it on Monday

Hope you like my desk.

Wirelessly posted (iPhone 16GB: Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; U; CPU like Mac OS X; en) AppleWebKit/420.1 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/3.0 Mobile/4A93 Safari/419.3)

I received a shipping notification today - 10 days ahead of the original shipping date. Delivery estimate is now feb 26 - hopefully it will get here before then! Interestingly they haven't shipped the SuperDrive yet: that had an estimated ship date of 25/02 with an estimated delivery of 27/02

Another day without change of my status (prepared for shipment). 2 days stuck on "prepared for shipment". And tomorrow it's sunday.

I'm going crazy right now

As you may or may not have read in my last thread, I'm having my MBA returned for a new one. So you can put me on the list again

Aichan (ESP): 1.6/80; Order: Feb 15 - ship: Feb 29 / del: March 7 - Not yet shipped

Oh well.

Well it was nice while it lasted, my MBA is on it's way back to Apple. The battery was taking > 10 hours to charge and there were also unsightly blemishes in the aluminium top cover (cosmetic but when you pay £1300 it should be perfect!).

The good news is that a new one is on order: 1.8/80 Order: Feb 14 - ship: Mar 6 del: March 13

So back on the list again......

I know what you mean, mine took 7+ hours to charge today, i spoke to Apple earlier today and they assured me this should work itself out after a few charges. Im hopeful as i believe MacRumorUser's battery has.

I wouldn't be at all surprised to see a battery software fix shortly. Fantastic computer tho, apart from the charging issue im loving it.

edit: after a few calibration charges, it now takes 2 hours to charge to 80% then seems to trickle charge the rest over 1.5 hours, which is fine with me.
