HQ Trivia has just been updated.

Edit: Twitter and YACReader (Yet Another Comics Reader) have also updated. Slowly but surely...

YouTube has been updated again, but only the width of the app has changed; it still throws all other apps into compatibility mode in split screen

As much as I’m not a fan of the black padding I’m really not a fan of the persistent black bar home indicator. When the black padding was there the indicator didn’t interfere with an app. When there is no black padding it does.

is it worth their time to update for a possibly small market? Does Apple force them to update ? If not, why should they bother when the majority of devices being sold are probably the 9.7" ones?

Bunch of updates dropped today *without* fixing the aspect ratio. Come on devs.

Keep in mind that Apple doesn’t tell devs about these changes any sooner than the public hears about them, so they didn’t even know that changes would need to be made until 10/30. That was just two weeks ago.

Software development is usually done in a cycle, so once needed changes are identified then they need to be developed and tested, then submitted to the App Store and approved.

It’s quite likely that many of the updates that we’re seeing in the App Store now were already under way even before the new resolution changes were known to be necessary. Frankly, it’s rather impressive that some devs have already been able to make the changes in their apps.

I would expect to start seeing a lot more updates to screen resolution in the next couple of weeks as those changes make it through the cycle.

BTW: Lightroom CC is updated and looks spectacular on the 11 now. Lots and lots have been updated in the last few days and the original list really needs an update.

If they don't update for the new iPads then Apple could get upset where they would force them to because the iPhone market isn't small. ;)

And Affinity Photo. Just waiting on Microsoft and everything on my homepage/dock will be fully compliant - within 10 days of launch. That’s a pretty good turnaround, no? Most pp devs are impressively responsive these days.
I’m still waiting on Hulu, Prime Video, DirectvNow, Peloton... all these apps that do video are taking their sweet time.

Affinity Photo just updated for iPad Pro 12.9 and 11!

BTW: The software updates are coming fast and furious, faster than I personally expected. Games are lagging but all the main apps are rapidly being updated.
