Yeah how they say "Screen Brightness" is not describing what the button is actually for, it just changes the brightness on the keyboard backlight thats all..would be nice for them to have had a button for the actual screen brightness but they didnt not sure why..
When you receive yours, when you go to pair it and you have to put in the number code(When you set it up via bluetooth) press return button after you put in the numbers, otherwise it wont connect, trust me took me like 10 tries before I looked it up on youtube and realized oops no wonder its not working LOL..Also, once its completely charged, the battery indicator on the keyboard does NOT stay on anymore, it only turns on when you need to charge it again

Thanks for the advise, and lol at all those attempts :)

I’ve done equivalent things in the past, though nothing specific springs to mind.

Yeah I felt silly trying over and over again to connect it not realizing you have to press return after wards..I really like the case..it is kind of bulky yes but the typing on it is excellent I hated the apple keyboard could never type on it if they had a keyboard like this one I would have gotten it..kind of annoying you can only use this keyboard in landscape mode but its Ok I guess not all apps support landscape mode so have to turn it around

Does anyone know why the Logitech Slim Folio Pro is not available on Amazon?
It is in stock at my Best Buy but nowhere on Amazon.
There used to be a place holder that said it was coming out December 2020 but that page is gone.

Funny you say that, mine was due from Amazon (UK) today, but I got an email this morning saying it’s delayed until end of May. Which did me a favour actually, ordered it directly from Logitech with a coupon, saved me £13, and it arrives tomorrow :)

Ok, about a week now.. i work in the field. I find it its almost the weight of my company issued laptop. Its heavy and i will return and get the ASK

Mine arrived today. It does add considerable bulk, and wow, I wouldn’t like to regularly take it in and out of the case. As others have mentioned, it takes a little force to get it in, at least mine did.

Fortunately I use my 12.9” exclusively in landscape and at home and have no need to remove the case for anything. I have an 11’’ cellular for on the go and traditional, caseless tablet usage, which the ASK is very convenient for.

I LOVE having a function row, one of the biggest reasons I purchased this are the media keys - playing and pausing podcasts/video is soooo much better and quicker.

The only disappointment, like I’ve mentioned a couple of times in this thread, is the absence of screen brightness keys despite the marketing blurb saying otherwise. A pretty minor quibble thankfully.

You have the 11 inch too? How you finding that combo with the 12.9?

Got this case for my 12.9 and certainly won’t be taking it out the case...it’s basically my laptop replacement but I take it work too just don’t know if I should get a 11 inch pro for work and on the go and if it suits my usage better

Ok so i returned the folio and got the ASK. Feels more premium and now the weight is even better. Also, i noticed on logitech, everyday you use it it felt more cheap and uglier lol

They will PM costco price $169

It's a great combination. I use the 12.9" almost all the time when I'm at home, in landscape with keyboard attached. Split screen is a lot more viable and useful on the bigger screen I find, much of the time I've a YouTube video using third of the screen on the left, sometimes half, the right portion using Safari or whatever. It's big enough that it doesn't feel pokey.

The 11'' is cellular and I take it to work with me every day. Don't actually use it for work (railway), it's entirely for entertainment. For me, 11'' is a perfect size for portrait traditional style tablet usage, and with the ASK it's great for video etc. Can't pretend I use them to their full potential, but I love using them.

Have a Mac Mini at home for non iPad tasks and a PC purely for gaming.

I’m thinking of the 11 inch for on way to work too, my launch break and for note taking when i need it at work. Just feel if i had two iPads would my iPhone get enough usage. That’s the only thing putting me off at this point.

Fair point. I was unsure if I was being unnecessarily spendy when I bought a second iPad, but I’ve not regretted it as I do use them in two pretty distinct ways.

Suppose it depends on how much you’d use it on the go. Sometimes I get home and it’s down to 30-40% off a full charge, so I know it’s getting hammered doing something. I’d never even consider taking the 12.9” on the go, I’d struggle to get it in my bag and it’d be far too large and unwieldy in certain circumstances at work. Which is funny considering pre iPad days I happily used a 13” MacBook on the go, but hey. Think I’m spoiled by thin and lightness.

So.. ASK or Logitech?

How much bulk does the Logitech add?

Feels like holding a netbook. Now im happy with my decision returning it and got the ASK now.
[doublepost=1557435117][/doublepost]Also i noticed that my battery life drop significantly when using the Logitech Folio

Ah, I have a Zagg Rugged Messenger on my 10.5 and am looking into a Smart Keyboard now as I cant stand the extra bulk it adds. I love the backlight keys and overall feel of the keyboard, but the ASK is so slim and portable.. it’s hard to beat.

I am thinking about picking up the ASK for the 11 inch, but am concerned about the typing feel of the ASK compared to the logetech. As someone thats going to be doing a lot of writing/typing on the keyboard, will the ASK be able to keep up? Ive heard the Logitech is much better for people that do a lot of writing/typing - but then I am left with the bulk of it which I do not want. Basically, I am looking for a slim portable keyboard folio with a good keyboard feel. Shame it’s so hard to find.

To each their own. The apple offering is pure trash. Cheapest version of the case they have made for the pro series. LOL goes to show you how different ones experience and daily use differ from another.

I also am out in the field and the added bulk of the case feels better to me over the flimsy cheap feeling and looking apple version. And yes i had the apple version for a couple weeks of daily use before I returned it due to the issues i faced with it and the overall cheap feel.

Ive the 12.9 SG 1TB version

I have the Apple Folio keyboard for my 12.9 and aside from still not being used to having the keyboard facing outwards when flipped behind, I love that it isn't that big and that there is no need to ever charge it. But for typing feel, lack of backlighting and the lack of the extra row of keys, I'd strongly have looked at others if they had been available at launch time. Since they weren't and I already invested in the Apple one, I kind of hate to buy another keyboard.

is it difficult to remove the ipad from the case?
i will clean my ipad every fortnight

I picked up the Logitech Slim Case for the 12.9 from my local Apple Store and to be honest I'm not that impressed - its substantial and covers the iPad nicely and its decent to type on (better than the Smart Keyboard), also having the function keys is very handy - however the Bluetooth connection is annoying, I've got a Desktop Logitech K780 that I've tried today and it just works seamlessly without delay.

I'm returning the Slim and have ordered a Brydge, I might add an ASK if I see one cheap as its handy for travel when I don't want to use it as a laptop.

In what way isn’t the BT working correctly?

Works seamlessly for me, the way it connects when you lock it into place is about as good as I expect short of it being a smart connector.

Having said all that, I’ve gone back to using my ASK, not sure why specifically, old habits.

I’m loving the logitech slim folio pro, in fact typing up this reply on the keyboard case. Does anyone have any good recommendations for a screen protector to use alongside this case? If heard great things about the paperlike screen protector, but wondered if the case would case any issues with the screen protector since the corners and edges are kinda covered by the case. Didn’t know if anyone had any issues with screen protectors.
