I've been up since 4am checking the app and still says unavailable for pickup at any of the twelve closest stores for any model. Hopefully the inventory just needs to update because I live in the Philly area. Should be some stores that have them...

not even stores in the west coast are stocked up when i typed in several different locations, probably it's true that 5am pst so 8am est is the time for drop. but it does suck that i wasn't able to get any sleep just like you.

Got in for a 1TB 12.9 in Louisville for today! I had issues on order day so I settled for a 256. Now I don’t even have to open the package and can send that one back! They sold out at this store within 5 minutes from what I can tell (of the 1TB and 2TB models)

Just got my order placed in the East Central Indiana area. Went live at about 7:25. I changed my order from a 128 to a 256 Silver 12.9”. My original preorder was not going to ship until June 2-9. Is it safe to cancel that now or should I wait until I pick it up today at 5?

If you get the ready for pick up, you can just cancel your original pre-order. Or if you want to play it safe, just cancel it after you pick one up.

Just letting you know that the iPads are available for release day ordering and pickup today from Apple here in Australia. So should be the same in other countries (with May ordering).
It looks like all configurations are available.

My pre-order has shipped and should arrive today.

I called it on the pre-order thread, that Apple wasn’t about to deprive their Apple Stores of inventory for two months. So, when they were pushing back ship dates for pre-orders, it was because they were running out of “pre-order stock”, not all stock.

I, too, just placed my today-pickup order - changed from the 2TB I had on order with CDW to 1TB model. I’m really interested in the 16GB and can live with less storage since I’m not doing any content creation activities that require anything,

UPDATE: All stores in Detroit went live with stock at 8 am. I now have an 11 am appointment to pick up my iPad 12.9 256GB and I’m getting $455 for my 2018 iPad Pro 11. Pretty good deal overall. Now to cancel Best Buy and return the pre-order when it comes (at some point) since I can’t cancel it now. ?

No availably as far as I can tell at the Halifax, NS, Canada store, 8:15 AM ADT.

I had been planning to try this since my online order delivery window was June 4-10, but am no longer planning to, since the order updated to “preparing to ship” and my CC was charged as well.

I‘m only checking now to satisfy my curiosity as to whether stock will be available. Will try again a bit later. (The store itself doesn’t open until 11:00, COVID hours)

There is availability in Halifax Canada store now. 9:15 am Atlantic. I was able to order a 12.9” for pickup today.

Order was marked as ready for pickup, so I cancelled my pre-order from April 30th. Which status hadn’t moved since I placed the order. ?‍♂️

I can’t find any 12.9” 1TB 5G Silver models around anywhere. That was the only model I was considering swapping into.
