No color issues with a UL600 but I do have an issue where my external monitor will be yellow tint/hue if I leave it plugged into hdmi overnight. Seems like some night setting or something on the MacBook?
Did you get this fixed on your LG 27UL600-W 4K monitor? Cheers.Dweevo and Hugodrax -- What resolution do you have your monitor at and what color profile? And Dweevo, do you mind sharing what Picture Mode you have set for the 27UL600? I'm currently using Displayport, but I'll try HDMI. Thanks guys.
Hi! When you say "24-inch 4K ultrafine" do you mean you connected your M1 Mac to the Dell P2415Q?Hi all–
I’ve had the 24” 4k ultrafine for awhile and a 27” LG 4k (usb-c) one. For flickering issues, I recommend using a thunderbolt cable from Apple (they’re like $40 for 2 meters or like $130 for one twice as long—ugh). There also used to be software from LG where you could adjust the monitor’s color profile—I think “cinema” got rid of the neon for me.
Hope this helps somebody.
I received my answer from a fellow M1 MBP / Dell P2415Q user — DisplayPort works better from the start than HDMI.Hi! When you say "24-inch 4K ultrafine" do you mean you connected your M1 Mac to the Dell P2415Q?
I need to connect my M1 MBP, but unsure if a DisplayPort cable or an HDMI cable is the better way to go.
Which Samsung model? Connected by HDMI?For what it's worth we get washed out colours in our Samsung 28-inch 4K monitor, but not Samsung HD monitor, with the M1 Air
Same monitor with the 2020 Intel Air gave us no such problems.
What resolution are you running it at? I've got the exact same model (and same Mac mini) and the only way I can get 4k scaled to 1920x1080 (retina)@ 60Hz is to use a USB C to Display Port adapter. Doing HDMI only gets me 30Hz. Same cable and monitor has no issues doing 1920x1080 scaled @ 60Hz on my 2018 Intel Mini w/ HDMINew M1 Mac Mini hooked to my 2019 LG - 27UL600-W. Seems fine so far.
HiFor anyone still researching LG monitors, I've been using LG32UN650 for over three weeks with my Mac Mini. I used the HDMI cable provided in the box, and I haven't had to fiddle with anything at all.
That looks like a nice monitor though at 27" I would rather have something a bit higher resolution. Apple's 24" iMac 4.5k looks like a pretty good compromise if it were used in a 27" with 4480x2520 at 190 dpi. The 3840x2160 is only 163 dpi. I have a 24" LG 24UD58-B 4K which has a dpi of ~185. I've currently settled on running scaled on 2304x1296 scaled HiDpi.Hi
Which resolutions do you have? I was with a 27" LG 27UL850 at 2560x1440 with usb-c but wanted to go up to 3008x1692 but with 27" it looked a bit small. Have you tried with usb-c to hdmi?
You are right, the 2560x1440 looked great on the 27" LG... the problem was I wanted to have more space (to have some Excels in parallel + Safari) and going to 3008x1692 on the 27" looked too tiny for me. That's why I returned the 27" and I am looking now for a 32", but wanted to make sure the 3008x1692 is available (specially if I go for a cheaper non-USB-C monitor). I think 3008x1692 on a 32" should be a sweet spot and an improvement from my previous 2014 5K 27" iMac (due to the increased space thanks to that higher resolution)That looks like a nice monitor though at 27" I would rather have something a bit higher resolution. What's wrong with 2560x1440 on your 27"? Sounds like it would be about the best possible scaled resolution for a 4K 27".
Sorry, just saw this. Mine does the exact same ting. Did you find a cure? What resolution are you running it at? It's the HDMI to USB-C adaptor - most only support 30Hz 4K. Apple's one will do 60Hz, it's what I use.Sorry, just saw this. Mine does the exact same ting. Did you find a cure?
Will swap it! Your HDMI directly only does 30Hz? Can you run 4K at the non-scaled to 1080p resolution? Thanks. It's the HDMI to USB-C adaptor - most only support 30Hz 4K. Apple's one will do 60Hz, it's what I use.
Use the original HDMI cable that came with your LG monitor.Sorry, just saw this. Mine does the exact same ting. Did you find a cure?
Will try to find that. thanks.Use the original HDMI cable that came with your LG monitor.
I connect my LG 4K display to my M1 MBA by HDMI via Apple's USB-C Digital AV Multiport Adaptor (which also gives me one USB-C for power and one USB-C for my wireless mouse dongle). This gives me 4K at 60Hz. I run the display at the middle scaling option (looks like 2560 x 1440), but all other scaling options are available to me. I can run the display at the native resolution, but it's too small for me. The 2560 x 1440 also gives true pixel doubling for a retina-like quality as at that setting, the MBA uses an internal resolution of 5K, then scales it down to 2560, which is exactly 2:1.Will swap it! Your HDMI directly only does 30Hz? Can you run 4K at the non-scaled to 1080p resolution? Thanks.
