That's a great point, I've been guilty of making that sweeping statement myself. Where I am (UK) the 14" MBP can be found cheaper at third party retailers than the 16/512 MBA but we have to keep in mind that's not the case everywhere.
I'm curious where you've seen that (please see my post #32).

Oh, I see now. You've configured the binned M2 to 16/512 (£1,649), the other poster (and I) configured the full M2 to 16/512 (£1,749).

The point still stands (sort of). Even if you don't care about GPU performance, when specced, the binned M2 MBA gets close price-wise to a discounted base 14" MBP. And if you do care about GPU performance, a full M2 MBA is more expensive than the MBP, while offering worse GPU performance (and worse MT CPU performance, speakers, display etc.). All of these in the UK market, not sure what the prices in Denmark are like.

I did that to make the comparison equivalent. I configured the binned M2 because folks were comparing it to the price of the binned M1 Pro. I.e., I made it minimum-price M2 with 16/512 vs. minimum-price M1 Pro with 16/512.

As I said, I agree about the value comparison—particularly if it's going to be your only computer. [If you have a powerful desktop for most of your production work, and the laptop is a secondary device just for travel & lectures, I can see portability considerations winning out.]

But the price statement I challenged remains incorrect.
