Whatever anyone says, you can't use the 13" in one hand comfortably for a decent period of time, unlike the 11" which is like reading the newspaper or a magazine, easy to hold in one hand around the house and outside.
I don't want a 13" tablet resting on my stomach with WiFi going through my body!
You no doubt got the right iPad for you. That’s great.
I was just trying to say that I don’t hold the 13” up with one hand, not like you are suggesting anyway, but I do hold the bottom left corner with one hand while that hand is resting on something, say my lap or stomach as examples.
To provide a bit more info, I have a work provided laptop for programming, so I position my iPad next to my work laptop during my work day for personal use. Either size iPad works for this scenario, but I prefer the 13” as it’s closer is size to my 15” work laptop and it just feels like a better match.
In the evenings, I like to sit in my recliner and use my iPad, often while watching TV shows on the projector. I can rest either edge of my iPad on myself while just balancing it or holding the left corner with my hand, but I can also use a blanket that I keep there as an iPad support. When using the blanket, I have both hands free. I can do this with my 11” too, but it “sinks down” a bit more, so the 13” is a better size for this.
I have a bed with motorised backrest positioning, so I can lay down flat or sit up supported by the bed. This allows for changing of positions with the iPad. I have considered one of those stands to use by the bed, but haven’t needed to buy one.
Other times, I might sit at the kitchen table with my iPad. I use the Smart Folio at the moment, but I imagine the Magic Keyboard to be great here, also next to my work computer too. I will buy one soon.
Where the 13” gets a little ‘harder’ for me is that I like to take it everywhere. My 12.9” was too heavy to take shopping, but fine to take other places, like to my relatives houses or on days when I go into the office. I actually seriously considered the 11” this time so it was more portable and I could take the one iPad everywhere, essentially consolidating my iPads. But, I think that I would’ve missed the bigger screen if I consolidated to the 11”, so I think consolidating wasn’t going to work for me. I also still have my M2 11” anyway and I realised that of my 3 previous iPad sizes (12.9”, 11” and mini 6), I was using the 12.9” the most, so I’ve picked the 13” for this upgrade and plan on keeping it for 4-5 years. I’ve been managing with the 12.9” for years and now it’s thinner and lighter. The 11” was still temping though and I had a hard time deciding.
