apple folio is flawed for 13 sometimes magness do not hold and ipad folds.
This design is a ****** one, i much more prefer logitech combo kickstand
Only got the folio for the 11, and it’s great. Preordered the Torro leather magnetic folio for the 13 which has always been my favorite case.

I have the 11, and I’m quite happy. I think if you’re using the ipad as a leisure item or for light productivity, the 13 is overkill unless you have bad eyes. the weight difference is a huge factor.

If you’re looking for a full laptop replacement or you’re a real “pro” user, 13 is the way to go.

because now that apple has gone all-in on the landscape mode, having that extra vertical real estate in the 13” while in landscape is worth a lot, especially if you’re viewing/editing documents.

The keyboard on the 11 is a little cramped but it’s not a deal breaker. You’re just going to make more errors at first, but youll get used to it.

there are still things I can’t do on the ipad pro which still means I can’t let go of my 13” m1 Air yet, but its very close.

I keep not being able to decide. I’m loving the weight reduction of the 13” size but having that small form factor is so not nice for tablet use. I can use the 13” as a tablet much easier than the old version but it’s still not as table like

I’ve been using my 11” with MKB all weekend, as I took a big road trip to see the girlfriend’s parents. Travelling as a passenger, it was awesome balancing it with the keyboard on my knee, one knee, watching videos.

I’m using it surprisingly more as a mini laptop, e.g keeping it on the keyboard more than I thought I would, and just typing more because of it, such as this comment.

I’ve always preferred using the Pro as a tablet, but there’s something mega cute and cool about using it with the MKB this time. Also glad to not have to get the MBA M2 out of the office, since that’s my work laptop and feels ‘dirty‘ when I use it for casual use! Weird I know.

This nice clean 11” with keyboard has been super useful all weekend. Hopefully not a novelty.

I’m grappling with what size to get. I’m coming from a 9.7’ iPad (not an IPP - please don’t judge ;-D), so even the 11” will be a decent size upgrade. I’m generally fine with the size of my current one. I’ve never really been drawn to the 13”. But now with the reduced weight of the 13” and I’m planning to get a Magic Keyboard, and the 13” seems like a better keyboard size.

But, I have a Windows desktop at work and can use Remote Desktop to access that on the iPad. I’m thinking the 13” would be better for that.

It seems like a lot of the people who say they prefer the 11” have a MacBook they can use if they need a bigger screen. This’ll essentially be my only computer (other than the work desktop). I have an iPhone, but pretty much always prefer to use the iPad than the phone.

So, I’m thinking for the first time maybe I should go for the 13 as it’s my only computer.

But then I worry it’ll be too big for day to day use for what I mostly use the iPad for now - which to be honest is mainly content consumption (although, that’s due in part to having a slower, older iPad with limited storage)…

I’ve been into the store several times. The OLED displays look amazing. There is a surprisingly large difference in the physical size of the 2 devices. 11 v 13 doesn’t sound as big as the size difference is in practice. In the store, the 13 doesn’t feel too bad in the hand - although always a bit hard to tell with the security devices on.

The other thing I noticed is that I actually rarely hold my current iPad in hand. I seem to always have it sitting in my lap, or resting against my legs. Kinda makes me thing maybe the 13 would be ok - at least weight wise. But the comment someone made above about it just being physically too large a screen in bed, etc., is a bit worrying.

It’s kind of a big deal for me to spend the money to upgrade, so getting both isn’t an option and I don’t think we have the same generous return periods other countries have. Just going to have to make a call at some stage. 11” is probably the safe call…

Get the 13”. If it’s your only “computer” then I think this is an easy call. Just be prepared to adapt to using the Magic Keyboard instead of tablet only mode.

I use my 13” with one edge resting on my legs or stomach while sitting in my recliner or laying in bed. It works quite well and I don’t have to support the weight of the iPad, I’m just balancing it.
I have the Smart Folio, with the plan of getting the Magic Keyboard soon. I’ll use the Smart Folio when I want to travel light or when I’m just consuming content and Magic Keyboard at my desk or kitchen table. So I plan on switching them, depending on what I’m doing. I’d take both when travelling, but just use the Smart Cover in an airplane, not that I fly often. I have a 2019 MacBook Pro, but it has become a “desktop” that I go to occasionally, while my iPad is my main device.

I‘ve used the 13” model for several days now after five years with the smaller model. The weight is fine. I use it in bed and on the couch in a folio. My main activities are web surfing and photo editing. I’m slowly working through 60 gigs of photos and I’d much rather do this on the larger iPad vs the 11” or my 27’’ iMac.

Whatever anyone says, you can't use the 13" in one hand comfortably for a decent period of time, unlike the 11" which is like reading the newspaper or a magazine, easy to hold in one hand around the house and outside.

I don't want a 13" tablet resting on my stomach with WiFi going through my body!

I’ve personally never used a tablet one handed. I mean how does that work. And I sleep with lots of devices beside me and apart from a slight glow I’m fine.

You no doubt got the right iPad for you. That’s great.
I was just trying to say that I don’t hold the 13” up with one hand, not like you are suggesting anyway, but I do hold the bottom left corner with one hand while that hand is resting on something, say my lap or stomach as examples.

To provide a bit more info, I have a work provided laptop for programming, so I position my iPad next to my work laptop during my work day for personal use. Either size iPad works for this scenario, but I prefer the 13” as it’s closer is size to my 15” work laptop and it just feels like a better match.

In the evenings, I like to sit in my recliner and use my iPad, often while watching TV shows on the projector. I can rest either edge of my iPad on myself while just balancing it or holding the left corner with my hand, but I can also use a blanket that I keep there as an iPad support. When using the blanket, I have both hands free. I can do this with my 11” too, but it “sinks down” a bit more, so the 13” is a better size for this.

I have a bed with motorised backrest positioning, so I can lay down flat or sit up supported by the bed. This allows for changing of positions with the iPad. I have considered one of those stands to use by the bed, but haven’t needed to buy one.

Other times, I might sit at the kitchen table with my iPad. I use the Smart Folio at the moment, but I imagine the Magic Keyboard to be great here, also next to my work computer too. I will buy one soon.

Where the 13” gets a little ‘harder’ for me is that I like to take it everywhere. My 12.9” was too heavy to take shopping, but fine to take other places, like to my relatives houses or on days when I go into the office. I actually seriously considered the 11” this time so it was more portable and I could take the one iPad everywhere, essentially consolidating my iPads. But, I think that I would’ve missed the bigger screen if I consolidated to the 11”, so I think consolidating wasn’t going to work for me. I also still have my M2 11” anyway and I realised that of my 3 previous iPad sizes (12.9”, 11” and mini 6), I was using the 12.9” the most, so I’ve picked the 13” for this upgrade and plan on keeping it for 4-5 years. I’ve been managing with the 12.9” for years and now it’s thinner and lighter. The 11” was still temping though and I had a hard time deciding.

The more I use it the more I’m happy with the 13”. I do plan to get the Magic Keyboard eventually, but probably not for a couple of months. As an iPad this 13” Pro finally feels light enough to hold in my hands for extended periods of time and use it as a tablet comfortably. I’ve ever started reading the Darth Vader comics which I’ve wanted to for a while but haven’t done yet.

All that said, I did go to the Apple Store this morning to pick up a Smart Folio and played around with the 11”. It’s very nice to hold and use as well. if I had an infinite money cheat code I’d get both but alas I do not. I’ve still got the weekend to make my final decision about which one to keep, leaning on keeping the 13” for now though.

Just got an 11 inch m4 512gb with 5g today. This is so awesome. I’m using it with the keyboard, this is a great device. I have been with the 12.9 since like 3 or 4 years. I wanted something smaller to bring with me everywhere. I was a bit worry that it would be to small but honestly with the most space setting active, this little setup is crazy. I feel like I made the right choice.

Like other said, if i need more, i will use my 14 macbook pro or mac mini desktop.

Don’t be scared to use the 11 inch with the keyboard. The combo is fantastic, even with extra large hands,

I agree. I’ve tried the 13” (or the former 12.9”) and if I wanted a laptop experience I’d just get a laptop. The 11” is plenty big for tablet things, especially with the keyboard. Such a joy to use.

Nice. Just did the opposite.
If I didn't already have a 16" MBP then I would have probably stayed with 12.9/13, but, it was getting a bit heavy to carry around both 16" MBP and 12.9" iPad. I use my iPad basically for consuming media, mobile editing, and occasional work.

As someone who owned m1 mac 16” and ipad 9, I decided to go with 11 inch ipad pro wifi only. I upgraded because I wanted OLED and also because I have giftcard and after trade in my ipad 9, I paid about 400$ after tax. The screen is beautiful and reading and browsing is so much more comfortable to the eyes now, thanks to oled screen. On top of that, because the bezel is much smaller, the screen also feels bigger to me. I have been using it for about a week, and I can’t imagine going back to use my ipad 9. It is also noticeably snappier and buttery smooth thanks to the 120 hz refresh rate.

It's going through your body anyway. Radio waves surround us. Wifi waves pass though your skin, but your body's water absorbs most of it. In fact, deep space missions could use their water supply, in tanks surrounding the ship, to absorb radiation.

Best practice is to wrap any sensitive body parts in foil prior to 13” iPad lap use.

11” can be held in hand so less of an issue
