Just been into the Apple Store.

The size between the two is huge, but the weight isn’t.

They both felt the same weight.

I bought the larger size.
Great. Looking forward to hear how you get on with it.

This looks nice. Mine's a simple triangle, so just one angle. And while a pillow-stand like this is nice to have, any small pillow or even a rolled-up towel will help prop the iPad in a pinch. ;)

This. They‘re not that far off in weight and tbh both get vaguely uncomfortable to hold up in the air after a little while if reading with them. Both are more comfortable propped up on my stomach or legs (the latter if I’m in a sitting position). I have a small kindle and even holding that up in the air after some time can get annoying, so I ended up settling on the 13” since it was minimally heavier and more practical when I had to do non-reading activities like actual work.

Just finished setting up.

First impressions: Makes my other iPad look tiny!

It’s a bit heavier than my other iPad, with the Smart Folio on.

The Smart Folio on my other iPad has better angles.

Also, the cameras are at the bottom of the iPad, if you’re not using it standing up.

I’ll let you know how good it is in bed 😉.

I have an M4 IPP 13” and do not have any problems while using it in bed. When I‘m not holding it, I usually have it in this: https://a.co/d/9uFJxg6. It’s adjustable so I am able to use while sitting up or laying down.

Ha! I remember right after I first got my 12.9" iPad Pro, I was at an Apple store, and started playing with an iPad on display thinking it was the mini. Turned out it was a regular size iPad!

Just booted up my MBA, and it looks tiny, now :D.
Wait, isn't the MBA about the same size as the 13" iPad? Are you saying the iPad is bigger?

The iPad looks bigger.

It’s probably because it’s held closer to my eyes.

Yeah not a fan of the new folio angles

I would definitely go 11”. For me it’s the size, not the weight, that makes the 13” unwieldy.

There is a reason that both sizes exist. The exact setup is an individual choice for every person. Just like deciding on if you prefer a large or a small phone, or a large or a small laptop. The choice is personal.

My solution was to have two iPads. My main 'workhorse' iPad is the 12.9" because it's just so much nicer to have the larger canvas when doing anything from writing notes, to doing emails, editing Podcasts, viewing media etc. But... it's just too big for me to use comfortably as a bedtime reader. I tried for a few months and then gave up.

I would think that any of the cheap iPads are great for this, but I really notice ProMotion on the iPad and iPhone (but not so much on my desktop weirdly) so I browsed Craigslist and FB Marketplace for a discounted 11" iPad and picked one up when I found a good deal. I use it mostly as a bedtime reader, but it's also become my travel iPad because the 12" is a bit clumsy to travel with.

I think I'm getting used to it.

Got my 11" out last night, and it seems tiny now.

Weight is not much different, but obviously the larger sized iPad is more top heavy.

Wish the front facing cameras were on the opposite bezel, though.

The 13” and a bed stand rule. I listen to YouTube, History Hits. Curiosity Stream, Magellan, or listen to Audible books playing solitaire. With this said with a bed stand, and there are a bunch of them, the size really does not matter

Mount a 65” tv on your ceiling and run a cable from your iPad to the tv for a larger picture. My friend does this and it works well.

Don't need a cable if you get an AppleTV. Attach AppleTV to your big TV set, then mirror the iPad to AppleTV.

Mostly use the Mini6 for reading in Bed, light and small and Touch-Unlock is much better than Face Recognition in the dark and close up to your face. That said, I started using the 13" M4 in bed and while not quite that light and book-like it is light enough and quite nice as a reader – the 11" is not much lighter, not thinner and so on. I was expecting to hate the 13 as a late-night-reader but so far haven't used the Mini anymore. And I love, love, love the Mini iPad, but the 13" is so perfect for magazines or double-page-book spreads etc.

Glad you like the new iPad! How are you using the Pencil? I tried one when it first came out, but didn't find much use for it.
I was just getting familiar with the pencil, but I can already see it coming in handy.

Editing screenshots is a perfect use for it.
