Hey i just bought two 8 Gig DDR3 1333 RAM Chips (16 gig) for a Mac Mini mid 2010 4.1 works perfectly, i think 1066 is way slower, was wondering if 16 gig 1333 is supported on 2010 model , and it is:)

great.
1333 vs 1066, you'll never notice the difference :D

That cannot be true. You don't understand ram speed? The 1333 is backwards compatible with 1066.

Though I would love to be proven wrong on this...

16GB Crashing Mac Mini Server 2010

Followed this thread, purchased the 997019 16GB 2x8GB paired from Ram Experts..

Installed but it crashes on start-up.. So mixed and matched the the old ram and have 10GB working stable.. Both sticks worked fine independently with exisiting ram but when together for the 16GB it's a no go..

I have the updated EFI (MM41.0042.B03) and running Lion 10.7.5...

Any ideas?

Thanks much in advance.

I did the same thing as you and complained about it in this thread: https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/1568576/

What was your final outcome, how did you get it to work...? I have the mushkin brand PC3-8500 SODIMM, should i return and get something else??
My mistake - I assumed that the 997019 RAM was no-name RAM. The Mushkin RAM has been working perfectly for me since I installed it. Perhaps confirm that the RAM is seated properly. Otherwise, my only remaining advice is to upgrade to Mountain Lion. I think that ML is roughly as fast as Lion.

16Gb Woes on Mid 2010 Mac Mini

I bought 16GB (2 x 8GB) DDR3 1066MHz PC3-8500 204-PIN SODIMM MEMORY RAM KIT FOR MAC MINI & MAC MINI SERVER (MID 2010) from Global Memory via Amazon. I understand that my machine is now 'unlocked' to accept up to 16GB RAM with Mavericks (http://blog.macsales.com/16302-some-2010-mac-owners-can-get-more-ram-than-they-thought) but I'm getting locking up and crashing when memory hits about 8Gb. Ive contacted the supplier but they claim its a known problem that Apple need to fix.

Anyone else getting this sort of problem?
