Mac Mini with yosemite installed?

Anyone seeing any issues with the new OS installed?

So far I am having my mini freeze on the log in screen when I wake it from sleep mode and when using the computer the hard drive seems to keep doing something and really slows things down
 
I'm also seeing a similar issue after installing Yosemite. When I wake my late 2012 mini from sleep it freezes. I can move the curser around but I can't click anything or use any hotkeys. I end up having to hold the power button down until it restarts!

Not that it is a good thing but I'm glad to see I'm not the only one seeing it. Hopefully it's a easy fix

Try doing a clean install and you should have know problems. I did the Beta program all summer and the first install I did I had the same problems.
Back up your system and erase your drive. Install Yosemite and then reinstall your Apps.

This is really the best thing to do when installing a new OS.

Exact same thing. Been that way for MONTHS. Since the first public Yosemite beta. Have reported it with each update and just again after downloading the official release.

Haven't looked closer at it, since I figured it was a bug and would get fixed by final release. Downside of running alpha and beta stuff. But I'm super frustrated that this hasn't been addressed by now.

My setup is pretty simple. Logitech keyboard and mouse plugged in directly to the back of the mini. No hub. Nothing fancy. Leave the system alone for an hour. Keyboard or mouse will wake up the display. Cursor can move around, but nothing in the UI responds.

I can only recommend many people report this via Apple feedback to give it some traction.

Guess I'll look at the PRAM and SMC next.

Not looking forward to a clean install though and doing a whole batch of software installs and tweaks. SSDs make for fast work, local installers aren't bad; but slow internet is a drag to get stuff again from the Apple store.

Did a PRAM reset, walked away for a bit and was able to log in fine. Not sure if enough time passed though. Will have to check again with some inactivity of a few hours to confirm.

Other issue I've noticed with regards to login, is that more often than not, over the past few months I've had a grey logon screen, instead of the new photo background one. It was grey again after the update to yosemite official. Which surprised me.

Anyway. Will let the system go to stand-by and deep sleep for a bit. Check back a few hours.

So far my mini won't start with the timer a game crashes now that's about all I have found
 
Sorry. No dice with the PRAM reset. Left the system alone for several hours, since posting earlier. According to console it woke itself up a couple times (for whatever mysterious reason). Anyhow. Display woke up after a tap on keyboard, but no way to log in. UI completely unresponsive.
 
Sorry to hear that! I have an older 2011 Mac Mini, and it had no trouble with either the public beta or with public release (I reinstalled Yosemite over the beta version).

EDIT: what peripherals are you using? If they are wireless or ones that require drivers, could that be an issue? Do you have simple, wired USB keyboard/mouse that you could swap out and use?
 
My mid 2011 is fine, access via screen share seems faster and more responsive..
 
Late 2012 i5/SSD
No issues except Mail. Hangs a few seconds before quitting or restart. Not sure all outgoing mail is getting out. Otherwise all apps work and performance is good.

I used the normal App Store update on my 2012 2.3 i7. I don't use a lot of OSX's bells and whistles, Mission Control and that kind of stuff.

So far Yosemite is running great with Photoshop CS6, Aperture 3 and Office 2011. I really like the look of the new OS. It starts, quits, sleeps and wakes up flawlessly.

Boo! Had to buy a new Carbon Copy Cloner ($20.00)

Pretty much what I use. Guess it's random who's having issues.

For everyone having issues what do you have connected to your mac

I have the Apple dvd drive. A wired Apple keyboard. An Hp Bluetooth mouse
 
this same exact thing happens to me as well (even on a clean install), but I think I might have found a work around.

for some reason my Mac Mini never woke from sleep with the keyboard or mouse, so I got accustomed to pushing the power button to wake it up. I didn't have any issues with Yosemite, until I started using the spacebar and that is when I found the problem. Today, both times it woke up just fine by pressing the power button instead of moving the mouse or hitting the keyboard. Note: both times it had been asleep for several hours.

this could be a fluke, so either later tonight or tomorrow, I will try with the keyboard and see if it does it again. Another thing that is happening is, after freezing and doing a hard reboot, I have horrible snow on my screen unless I leave the mac off for about a minute. both of these issues never happened in Mavericks.

good luck everyone, and I will report if it does it when I use the keyboard.
 
I have the same issue on my 2012 2.5 i5 mini
I did the install over maverick
And erased and reinstalled Yosemite with just 1 password and Dropbox installed, still the same problem.
Also chatted to apple and did their suggestions with no effect. Any solutions would be appreciated

Hi I have late 2012 with 4Gb Ram, My boot up time is much slower than Maverick also Safari for me is about the same as on Maverick I am not getting the lightning quick internet that other people are talking about also I have had to do a forced restart as not getting passed the boot up screen a couple of times, so for me a little buggy I think, but having said all that I do like Yosemite.
