No sleep issues on a 2012 mini with Yosemite here.
Weird that some have it and some don't?
(And it wasn't even a fresh install. I just threw it on over Mavericks)

How are your keyboard, mouse, printer connected to it?(Bluetooth, wifi, wired)

I have an Apple wired keyboard. A logitech wired mouse, and the printer is an HP wireless model. I don't use bluetooth for anything, so thats always disabled entirely.

I've had the same problem with my system freezing when waking from sleep mode. I never had a any problem with Mavericks. I upgraded to Yosemite yesterday morning on my quad-core i7 mac mini. So far, I've had to reboot with the power switch every time it wakes from sleep. Very annoying. USB Mac keyboard and Kensington trackball (also USB). The only applications that I've had running every time was Firefox 33, although that seems unlikely to be the problem.

No problem with sleep. It hiccuped this morning when resuming from hibernation but it eventually responded to the trackpad and keyboard after 10 seconds or so. I usually wake it up by pressing the trackpad.

Wired keyboard, bt trackpad, mac mini 2012, upgraded from Mavericks, wifi, canon mf printer (network).

Bummer, was hoping it was some kind of issue with something connected in a certain manner that was the issue. Guessing it's an issue with the software itself. Who knows

2012 Mac Mini 2tb with Yosemite ?

My 2012 2x1tb Mac Mini 2.6ghz ( not set up as Server ) seems to be continually caught between Normal/Dark Mode on menubar and poor graphics performance and lag over VNC to 2010 Macbook Pro 17' ( which is flying along since Yosemite ) .

Also , random crashes with Apps Store , and both Plex and iTunes in the middle of movies to Apple Tv 3  which is the prime use ( also including 'com.apple.geod not responding' error message in Activity Monitor )

Im just wondering would it be advisable to erase the Mini in its current form , and do a clean install from scratch ??

Attached peripherals include an occasional Lg BD/Dvd drive connected by USB , HDMI out to Tv , and 4 daisy chained WD Thunderbolt Duos connected to Thunderbolt ; also Bluetooth Keyboard /Trackpad/Mouse (occasionally )

I suspect the Mini has built up some crud from Mountain Lion / Mavericks and now Yosemite that a fresh install may help cure or am I being naive ??

Any thoughts ?

With a new OS it is always better to clean install and then reload your apps.

I Know it is a pain in the ass but it's the only way to insure it works correctly.

I have heaps of networking issues with screen share and network names.

Screen saver keeps resetting to the default pictures.

CCC will no longer back up to the Time Capsule (CCC 4.0)

It still seems like a beta version to me.

For anyone having the issue where the mouse moves but nothing can be clicked on, please...try and wake your computer up using the power button instead of using the mouse and keyboard. I just had it happen to me after I accidentally moved my mouse, and it hadn't happened all day today or yesterday from pushing the power button. I already have one confirmation this works over on apples support forums. Even if it doesn't work, let me know if it works or not because then we will know it could be different issues causing it and not just device related. Thanks!

I have disabled sleep on my 2012 Mini, I simply turn the monitor off when not in use.

The problem is when I come back to the computer after a few hours and turn the monitor back on it gets no signal. All I can do is hold the power button to turn the machine off.

I just don't understand why the monitor would get no signal when I have disabled Sleep, Screensaver, Hard Drive Sleep and have also disabled Monitor Sleep.

I had this problem with Yosemite GM Candidates and now with Public Release. The Public Release was a Fresh Install with Hard Drive Formatted!

Im actually temped to roll back to Mavericks :(

Anyone have any possible fixes?

I've not experienced any of these problems. Still, I hope you have been letting Apple know.
And I expect rolling back to 10.9 would be a chore compared to waiting for 10.10.1, which likely isn't far away..

Just ordered a thunderbolt to HDMI cable and will try using that port on the mini to see if that fixes my issue.

If not will have to hope there will a fix in an future update :(

That is why I'm hoping for and there should be. I have been sending Apple emails about the situation and so should everyone else experiencing this. Apple usually does a good job of hearing people out and fixing things

after updating to YOSEMITE i have the same problem. After waking up from a long sleep the mouse can be move but nothing can be click...

i wonder if you guys tried this:

System Preferences->Energy Saver->Start up automatically after power failure is check.

That's all i did and my sleep problem was fixed... :)

Waking from sleep using the physical power button on the unit, does not work for me to bypass the stuck / crashed login screen. Exact same screen and symptoms as with a key or mouse tap, nothing works or responds other than mouse scrolling about.

Interestingly enough yesterday, my system showed a crash report submit to Apple screen that my system had a sleep / wake problem. Summarized that this system never had a sleep wake issue under 10.8 and 10.9, but now daily needs a force shut down to be able to log on since yosemite beta.

Probably wishful thinking that type of report will get more traction than beta feedback, but I can hope.

Same bug: Yosemite no UI wake from sleep

on 2012 MacMini quad i7 2.3, Yosemite upgrade over Mavericks. Tried shedding any obvious culprits: no joy.

Will try power button wake, and energy pref auto startup from power failure; what a relief if temp solution...

Bug erratic...sometimes wakes, sometimes not. As reported upthread, when not, tho cursor moves, nothing else is accessible. Sometimes artifact around cursor...this am: a pink outline?!! Cannot find pattern on when Yosemite wakes or not...

Though started right after upgrade, and began immediate search, this is the first thread I found on this bug...apparently affecting only MacMini folk?

How do we report to the Mothership?

Chalk up another can't come out of sleep for a 2012 Mac Mini i7Q. Whenever the machine goes to sleep, the trackpad will wake it up but the keyboard is dead. I have had to power off the machine every time to get it to work which is a PITA to say the least. I've been through the SMC and NVRAM/PRAM reset to no avail. I've power cycled the machine more in the last week than in the last 15 months. I have really only rebooted for updates since I bought the machine.

The keyboard is an old Saitek Eclipse but I doubt that is the issue since so many others based on a Google search have had this issue after just about every upgrade in the last 3 years.

I NEVER had any issues under Mavericks. If I had enough spare HDD space for things I am not willing to lose, I would go back or do a clean install.

I guess sleep will get turned off until there is some patch or a reliable way to make it work again.

this didn't work for me. caused a complete freeze. my computer woke up, but i could not move the mouse.

I have been in contact with apple and they've been asking me to try all sorts of things. Including disconnecting my Ethernet and external HDD.
I'm still getting the problem but have told them that I'm not the only mini owner to have this problem.
Also trying unplugging each cable and leaving for 30 minutes.
Just did HDD and still freezing
Now to try Ethernet out on its own

Seems like everything we can do has been tried from what I can tell. This is on apple to fix now.

2011 MacMini 500 Hdd 8 GB memory

Did a clean install. Uploaded one program at a time making sure these were OK for Yosemite. Slow boot each time, but no lag, no freezing either. I have an Apple extreme current.

I ended up booting with out external HDD and Ethernet plugged in and waiting 30 minutes.
Then just Ethernet plugged in and waiting 30 minutes
Then just external HDD plugged in and waiting 30 minutes
Each time it froze when I tried to wake it up

Had another call from Apple and submitted another diagnostic to them again today. Now waiting to hear from them

the problem is the HDD... I just bought a 2012 Mac Mini i7 with 1TB HDD. Install Yosemite and had the exact problem.

Two things... System preferences / Energy... Un check the put Hdd to sleep when possible and disable the password upon wake helped mine alot. I found a post about that somewhere and it did help.

2nd: I upgraded to a SSD last night and fresh install of Yosemite. Problem solved. Instant wake up every single time.

5400 RPM HDD is slow to spin up after sleep. This happens on Windows machines too.

Could be but it didn't happen when I was on mavericks so I can't see why the hdd speed would be the issue
