[doublepost=1497620937][/doublepost]Macs have a particular problem and is that when a pice of hardware does not receive the proper current energy, the computer automatically shuts down and re-starts. my suggestion is hat you boot the Mac with both cards in but plug your monitor to the old one... if the machine re-starts and says " Mac has shut down because of a problem" then this means one of two things... your 6 pin is not giving proper power or your new video card is damaged. is so, wha you have to do is change the 6 pin on your motherboard, or you can buy a new power supply and use it and external one... yes it would be a mess.... and yes you will end up using two power supplies... but its the only thing I can think offJust to bump the thread, i now have all the correct cables as explained to me but sadly still no booting.
I'm getting the same results as before the card starts spinning but stops after about 30 seconds.
I'll doubt check the drivers again but i'm pretty sure they're correct, any other ideas? I'm coming to the end of my patience with this
