5651 Mac Pro 1,1

Mac Pro 1,1 2x2.26 with 9GB of RAM averaging 5651 on Geekbench 32bit. Will try again after I upgrade to AMD 5770.

I get ~14900 (64bit 2.1.7) with the machine in signature (only have the stock 6GB RAM - will be changing that soon)

Memory upgrade is in place.... didn't help the number as much as I thought it would:

I thought someone might get a kick out of this... I sold my MP to get into cycling at the beginning of the summer and used the 'leftovers' to build up a new rig for gaming (and a little hackintosh fun). In a nutshell, here is the build:

Gigabyte GA-P67A-UD7-B3
16gb 1866 DDR3
i7 2600K 3.4ghz

Using a moderate cooling system (selfcontained Corsair liquid cooling unit, H80), I'm running 4.5ghz 24/7 rock solid. Here are my results in GeekBench 64-Bit... not bad at all!

So a i7-2600K @ 4.5GHz = W3680 6-core 3.33GHz. Good to know thanks.

I get a little over 16,000 on a good test, on my 3.33GHz 6-core.

It's a better score than those are getting on the 8-core 2.4GHz models...

But still, I have never really needed this much power. The best decision I made was to put a solid-state drive in there. Even the lowest-end Mac Pro will feel like a speed demon with a good SSD.

Here are the Geekbench 2 scores for my renderfarm:
http://browse.geekbench.ca/user/Tutor/geekbench2 and http://browse.geekbench.ca/geekbench2/chart/show/500630.

Also, note that all of the unclaimed (unnamed) Mac OS X x86 (64-bit) scores on page one (and as of now most the ones at the top half of page two) of the Top Geekbench 2 Results browser are from my tuning of my 2 CPU 12 core FrankMacWinTosh, but I cannot delete those scores. For the record, 40,100 divided by 24,218 [ from http://www.primatelabs.ca/geekbench/mac-benchmarks/#64bit ] = 1.65579321166075 times (or 65%) greater.

On page one, I got 10432 back when I had 16GB 1066MHz RAM on 4,1 firmware. Since then, I've added 32GB 1333MHz RAM and changed the firmware to transform my 2009 into a 5,1 Mac Pro. Re-ran Geekbench, and got 11627. Pretty cool! Of course, the 10432 was also in normal 32-bit boot.

Now, I just gotta swap in a W3680 or W3690.
