Wow - just revisited this thread after a year.

I have a problem with the timeline, however. Look at the OP:

The nMP is going down the tubes. Cancelled. EOL. In the trash can.

Why? Word in Apple HQ is sales of the new form factor are disaster. Worse failure than Power Mac G4 Cube because studios and major buyers complained loudly and then switched to Windows workstations, hit Apple where they feel it.

But Mac Pro is not over. Factory now retooled for 7,1.

First two paragraphs make sense - it's what many here have said - and more or less what the Amigos admitted a year ago.

The third paragraph doesn't make sense. If the factories were retooled for the MP7.1 two years ago - don't you think that we'd be able to buy it already?

It's amazing how some can take facts, and place predictions ain't it? Mediums use the same tricks. No different than a 'cold reading', problem for OP, they guessed the end date wrong. Happens a lot. Like many mediums and so called clairvoyant people though, some would say they were spot on.

Speaking of which, where the hell is this "Mac Pro"?

[doublepost=1521652455][/doublepost]... I’ve been using roku more than AppleTV, it’s all Netflix and Hulu, if Apple doesn’t offer a work horse I have no reason to stay in the ecosystem. Yes I prefer macOS but if nothing is offered I’ll be out, ios devices will be switched over when they no longer run.

New Mac Pro revision waits on Sierra GM. Inventory builds for expected demand.

Dual full-length graphics cards installed in every build resemble AMD reference design with single 6-pin power socket. Apple-styled coolers are same color as tower exterior. Output is single row of four DisplayPort ports, maybe one HDMI, not close enough look to know. So far all towers built with two graphics cards.

One 120mm fan cools PCIe chamber but nothing like old Mac Pro. Uses clever flow pattern and open space is only for extra cards. Logic board PCIe power sockets are near graphics cards sockets with easy access and short and neat cables. Like I said before shape is not conventional tower at all. PSU is long thin shape for length of tower and I cannot see any fan. Maybe it is hidden.

CPU cooler is entire length of tower with one 120mm fan each end. Still cannot learn CPU part numbers but look at Broadwell EP v4 parts list and easy to guess except for top end core count.​

This statement was made some 3 weeks before AMD released the Polaris workstation cards in the new blue color.
 
PCIe is one of the biggest reasons that pros used the cMP. Whether you work in audio, video, photography, or web design, you are going to need expansion slots to get your work done. How did Apple refuse to consider this as an essential need to this market?

Furthermore, for a company that prides itself with clean designs and integration, how could they choose a canister with oodles of data and power cables cluttering up a workstation area, over a tower with most of that clutter contained? I really don't get it and apparently, neither did they.

A Modest Proposal:

Can we please let this thread die? After all, it was just a cheap sham in the first place.

Let us take up these conversations elsewhere rather than perpetuate a fake and necrotic thread.
