Mac Pro won't fully boot

That test doesn't mean much. A GTX 650 won't work on Snow Leopard or Lion anyway. You need an older card.

In the GTX series that would be most anything between 120 and 570. But 600 series is too new.

I tested the computer with an ATi Radeon HD2600 card and it boots up now...but it's a suspected dodgy card from a recently purchased 3.1(you can view this in another thread https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/monitors-lose-video-on-2008-3-1.2037009/#post-24430024

yeah problems all over.

Anyway now it at least boots so now will get a new video card and test that.

Used a mostly working ATI 2600 card pulled from my other 3.1(I had to get a refurb for that) and used it for this 1.1 to test. It works now....so it was the card all along. I will eventually get another card to replace it. Thanks to all who helped me on this!
