Server is down!

Only one person showed up (Santa Clause) but we had lots-o fun. :D

Santa also got killed by the "Guardians"! How I don't know. We where both attacking each other at close range and he killed me and was then killed by the "Guardians".

The Guardians got me!

In reply to the post by Nagromme about being accidentally blasted through a wall, that is not likely (though not impossible) because when it happened we were out in the middle of a field (Blood Gulch), close combat, nowhere near a wall.

I looked the phrase "guardians in halo" up and it seems sometimes when you are fighting someone and are both near death, they can still kill you, even though they are dead because of lag. So technically, you were killed by the other person, but the guardians (some kind of force?) get credit for it. I do not believe it is a glitch in the game.

Also, when you die by "the guardians" I do not believe your death count changes.

Hey all! Got 1 tip for you all :p

Ok looks like no1 been talking for a while but anyway. I 4got last time to tell you guys this move. Not many people know it(mostly pros use it) like me ^^ .
Its the double melee. Some of you may already know it but hey w/e. Ok its pretty basic and mega easy, yet very very helpful in some situations. So here it is. Press "melee", "grenade", melee" do it fast and u can sometimes pull of a triple. This gives a 2 hit kill if proper use and works with all guns, but best with pistol or assault rifle.

A situation this could come in handy is when some1 is in front of you 1 v 1 and u melee them then when they turn away instead of having to wait to melee again u do the double so they don't get away becuz u hit them in the back. Another way is u could put a few shots in them 1st and just do the double melee head on and they drop dead. Hope this helps you guys game :D

Im in =]

Haha how about we get a mr (macrumors)clan going lol. That would be funny, anyways my name is killersnail so

I'm sorry and embarrassed to to say this but I just plain forgot. :(
Next time I'll put it in my calendar (should have done this in the first place). I didn't mean to blow you guys off.

It is called Macrumors Halo Group.

The password is arn.

But i think it's over now.

can you add my name to the list pleez?? :D:D

I can host.... how could i make a constantly running server, one that would run even if I'm not near the computer, or even running the Halo app?? (if it's possible)

I tried to make an always-on server, but I think maybe the Mac version of Halo can't do that. There seems to be no dedi option (which means the server always appears as a player), and when the match ends a new one won't automatically start.

Does the Mac version of Halo not have dedicated servers??? That sux if they don't. Hey maybe one of you guys can help me out. I have a very fast connection(16mb broadband) and I would like to host servers for the clan I'm in on version 1.02.(Sorry can't play u guys on 1.07 :p) and whenever I try and host no one can join. It has no ping on the side of the server name. And my friends tell me it just retries and then says"unable to join the server". I have no firewall up or internet sharing on. I tried with ethernet cable too. I'm clueless. Any suggestions??

Mabye if you update to the newest version it might work.

I was led to believe Mac Halo has no dedis. I didn't check the Universal version though.

You have no firewall on your machine? How about your router? Do you have in your router your ports in stealth mode? or do you just have your modem hooked directly to your machine?

Um oh yeah. I use a broadband router. Maybe that is my problem. Some1 else told me the other day that becuz I use a wireless router I have to do something called NAT forwarding?? When I go into the router settings online(its a Netgear Router so I think u have to type in the Netgear IP address which is soemthing like 192.168.0.1 or w/e and put the password etc. Then I see firewall settings but it just has something that says "Outbound services" Allow Always (default settings) and says WAN Users "Any" WAN Servers "Any" Log "Never". And has a tool bar which alows me to make changes like "add" delete" edit etc.

Next it has the exact same set up except this time it has "Inbound Services" and has "Block Always" (default) LAN Server IP address "any" WAN Users "any" Log "Never, then gives me the option to change these and so on.

I guess I'll try and see what this NAT forwarding is 1st b4 I try it but any info is appreciated  Just wanna figure out how I can host cuz as I said b4 my internet connection is pretty fast. I'm not sure but I think 16mb is faster than T1 which u need to host 16 ppl in Halo. So if it is faster that'll be easy on the ears of people yelling lag lag lag!! every 5 mins even when its a T1 connection. Thx :D

Why don't we set a time and meet on (IDIC)Spock's server(see below). I got on it a few times and they seem to have a lot of bandwidth and it is a dedicated server that is on all the time. He offered to change the map cycle and the gametypes if we want him to.

I'm a long time lurker on the mac rumors forums. I'm the leader of a clan that plays Halo and other games. We have a dedicated server for halo hosted through nuclearfallout (as well as UT2004 and CS: S). Feel free to play on our Halo server anytime you want as we rarely play Halo anymore so it's empty most of the time (it's up 24/7). It's a 16 player public dedicated server, hosted in San Jose, Ca, and has a fairly large map cycle rotation -- several maps of team based slayer and CTF, and a couple of king of the hill and race.

The server is named IDIC and has a direct IP of idic.nuclearfallout.net . I can change the map cycle and the gametypes if you wish (i.e. currently there are no tanks or shees on any of the maps in the cycle).
