So basically I should just completely ignore the part where it talks about the Static IP address? Ok? w/e. I got nuffin to lose. XD

It looks like it's talking about a static internal IP address. Maybe that's something you have to worry about with some routers. I've shut down my computer dozens of times and never had to worry about it. A static external IP is the thing your ISP gives you--or doesn't if you have a dynamic IP. Unless you're using something like no-ip.com, only the internal IP should matter for hosting. And I WOULD follow any steps you are given for it.

Thanks

It works!! Thank you guys for your help :p I can now host my server woot. Its weird. Host advantage is pretty big...... U don't have to aim off at all. U just aim right on and also melees as well. I sometimes feel a bit cheap being host lol. Becuz I'm already a good player and own mostly any1 ^^ so now with host I'm kinda untouchable. After my 1st two matches of getting used to not aiming off I went 25 kills to 0 deaths for 3 games straight. I've gotten those scores off host as well but rarely if its not a dedicated server. Thanks for your help "budpam" and "nagromme". Peace :D

Well I'm glad you got that straightened out... :D
So when are you going to host? ;)
When you decide, you can post here and in the Mac Rumors Halo Group: Games Times thread.

Does the Mac version of Halo not have dedicated servers??? That sux if they don't. Hey maybe one of you guys can help me out. I have a very fast connection(16mb broadband) and I would like to host servers for the clan I'm in on version 1.02.(Sorry can't play u guys on 1.07 :p) and whenever I try and host no one can join. It has no ping on the side of the server name. And my friends tell me it just retries and then says"unable to join the server". I have no firewall up or internet sharing on. I tried with ethernet cable too. I'm clueless. Any suggestions??

I have the same problem, except I've just given up, it's too complicated lol.

Great! I'm glad you got it working. Now let us know when you can host one...

Aww sorry guys. I thought I mentioned I play version 1.0.2, not 1.0.7 :( The server runs great though. I can host 16 ppl on Blood Gulch no lag. But for some reason, sometimes people can't find my server. They have to refresh or press Get List so many time to see it  Thx again :D

Uhhhh, hello? Where did everyone go?

:D

With my Leopard update, and the lack of Halo Mac copies available all i can play is the demo :(

I want to play the full game again so badly, because the demo limits you only to Blood Gulch CTF or Slayer with pre set settings.

I died. Stupid tanks....
Seriously though, we sorta petered out didn't we. I haven't played Halo in ages now. We should try to play the same time and date every week/every other week; It would cut down on the game time confusion. Gota get good video game habits!

What does the Leopard update have to do with anything?

works for me as well. Although, i am on 1.5.2, and my map wont work, its justa white square. other than that its fine. I want to get a UB, but I aint paying $50 +

Time permitting, I'm still up for Halo!

Supposedly Halo for Mac is discontinued? :( But I already have it.

The Leopard update killed it for me because i did an erase and install. And i dont have the disk anymore.:(

I'm guessing this was caused by the quicktime update, and maybe you guys can help.

I tried playing halo last night, but everytime I was running, and pressed either the jump or use key, I would stop running, and have to press the forward key to get moving again. Anybody have a fix for this?

Assuming you've already tried the usual repairing disk permissions, yelling at the game and updating to the latest version of Halo; the only option left is to reinstall Halo.

I haven't played much in last couple of months, but when I do its usually a modded danger canyon map.

The tough part was getting a good time people could agree on. Some people play early, some late, some are on another continent.
