I went silver, for nostalgic reasons.

My old, 11" Air that I replaced last year was silver. Loved that machine.

The 13" entry-MBP that replaced it was space grey. The machine is great, the touch bar not so much.

Gold is just too flashy, IMO.

I'm assuming it's gonna look the same as the early-2020 MBA. If so, then space grey as that's what I have (after owning a silver MBP for 7 years) and I think it looks great.

I don’t like the Space grey (still much better than gold though), i ordered the Silver one.

I've ordered Space Grey but it was a tough decision - my wife recently got a sliver MacBook Air and its really nice, I'd forgotten just how nice that colour is.

I have space grey MacBook Pro. Small scratches on edges are very visible. So, in retrospective, I would buy silver. Maybe space grey look more cool, well, if you use your device outside, silver is more forgiving option.

I've gotten tired of drab Space Grey electronics. I want something lighter and brighter. My iPad Pro is Silver, and now my MBP will be Silver as well.

I found that the coating / finish on my 2016 Space Grey MBP showed more wear in a few weeks than my 2012 Silver MBP did in three years.

I've only ever had silver Apple notebooks (unless we're going way back to the days of the black MacBook or whatever) so I decided to get the Space Gray.

But the more I read the more people seem to say the Space Gray isn't great. So I'm wondering if I'm gonna regret this...

It's fine. I've had my Air for 8 months and it doesn't have a mark on it. Not sure what others are doing to scratch theirs so much.
I doubt I'd mess mine up. I don't baby my machines but I don't wrap them in cotton wool either, and I'm not even bothered about scratches really.

What does scare me is this talk of 'obvious discolouration on the palm rest areas' but I'm sure that's BS.

I've never even seen a SG MacBook up close, or if I have I've thought it was the Silver. I thought they were pretty similar, just silver and slightly darker silver. 🤷🏼‍♂️
