You called it, lots of Dell 1080p panels. Garbage compared to any Apple display... but sadly that's the reality we deal with every day in corporate IT.
How are 2 2K monitors in clamshell mode better than a single 3k or 4k monitor and the built in retina on the MBA?

I think our negotiated price on those 2 2k monitors are about $78 per pair in the quantities we buy. It’s an economical win. Fortune 500s are nothing but bean counters. Nobody in accounting and finance cares if Excel or Outlook looks prettier.

MacBook Air is a very good laptop. Good to see than it is now shipping with M3. Would have liked to see a new colour and at least a new wallpaper.

Still, the upsell from 24GB/2TB MBA to the Pro with 24/2 is amazing. A few hundred dollars more and you get the much better machine at almost the same weight.

Has the screen on the M3 MacBooks changed at all - or is it the same since the M1?

It's just me or iJustine and the rest of the clown band are getting more and more irritating?

I am pretty sure the Apple hardware has to be returned to Apple after the creators are done with filming. The only real benefit here is the early access, which allows them to release the videos even before those laptops are made available for sale, which in theory should translate into higher views compared to someone who can only carry out filming after said laptop is released.

The utter disgusting faces of Apple shills in those videos, so scared to question the great Apple on anything for fear of being black listed.

This is very wrong, Apple continue to control the narrative on their latest boring upgrade and this sellouts continue to tell you its the best thing since sex.

by the time non shills get their hands on one, people are over it.

This gives you a insight into their attitude and how they handle criticism.

This was the longest video ever to tell me very little about what happened.

Side-note -- the MacBook Pro M3 (*not* M3 Pro nor M3 Max) is the best of the bunch.

The MacBook Pro M3 Pro is actually terrible compared to the M2 Pro.
Ok, so you are saying to purchase the MBP "regular" M3 and not the M3 Pro. Can you please give me some additional info? Thanks.

yes - see here (there's another article I can't find right now...). The memory bandwidth took a step back and GPU performance is worse:

and on heat/battery (this could be fixed w/ newer OS, but doubtful):

Thanks....so some context....I will be going from a 2020 Macbook Air (Intel i5/16 RAM/512 GB) to either a Macbook Pro M3/16 RAM/1 TB) or Macbook Pro M3 Pro/18 RAM/512 GB). These machines are the same price. Which should I choose?
Storage is not an issue as I have an outboard SSD.

Great respectful conversation - thank you. Because I'm also thinking of replacing my personal 15" Pro i9 MBP.

The big things I see are:
1) Size: MBP is a little bigger/heavier. It's noticeable. You didn't mention screen size, but my kids love their 2020 Air M1 13", and I like the M2/M3 15" Air over my M2 Pro 16" work machine.
2) Ports: Pro has more ports, including HDMI. Honestly? I route everything through a single USB-C to my Dell display, including power (I've never used MagSafe - it's in my closet). I charge via USB-C on the road too, but I do plug my crap into my Mac to charge...
3) "Pro-Stuff": I don't use discrete video, at all, but I guess they all have it. The Pro can go higher - but to a cost point neither of us are willing to go to. Other than that? There's no "Pro" upgrades to RAM/SSD/etc. like there used to be - these are ALL appliances.
4) Battery on my 16" Pro is epic. But - battery life on the 13" Air is ALSO epic (my kids often forget to charge overnight and theirs last 2-3 school days - with ample reserve). Theirs recharge to full faster.

My Air is a 13". No issues with size, though a little more screen size would be nice. I guess if what I'm looking at are the same price, I'll go with the MBP....thank you....

I just bought a 15" M2 Air 16/1TB - GREAT! With a Best Buy trade-in of a 2019 MBPro, it was $819 including tax.
I screwed up (corrupted) the Time Machine backup at 99% - BAD.
