@mikeypotg how did u manage to run that gameheroes of might n magic V? I asked a game developper what to do. He said :
"Update.

There is a divide by zero created on the chipset found in the MacBook and MacMini. Updating to the latest H5 will fix this windows side. This has already been ironed out so the Mac version won't have this problem."

Anyways tell me how u did it plz ^^

Hey, I installed the game on Windows mode (via boot camp). Also, I don't think I updated it, though I'm not certain. The game has run very smoothly.

I also installed the expansion and that has run relatively problem free. However, there has been a couple issues where the game shut off on me and gave me an error. This usually happened during a battle. I stopped playing after that, but perhaps there has been some new patches to fix this?

Good luck!

thx

Thx, I'll try to reinstall it asap. maybe it was a problem with my old bootcamp, dunno :)

PS: Happy Newyear !!! ^_^

I could get Battlefield 2142 running smoothly on my 17" iMac (running at 2GHz with 1GB of memory) on all HIGH settings and AA at 2x. :D :D

Well, an iMac is similar enough to a Macbook. :p

No its not. A Macbook is roughly the same as a Mac mini in terms of GPU (Intel GMA950) and a Macbook Pro would be similar to an iMac (ATI X1600).

has anybody managed to get need for speed carbon to work? i'm running xp via bootcamp on a macbook 2ghz c2d with 1gb ram, and it just briefly flashes a black screen then crashes back to the desktop when i try starting it. i've tried both 1.0 and patching up to 1.3 without any joy.

i find it very strange, because it's a recent 3d game by ea - and at the same time fifa '07 works like a charm!

i'd like to know too

tried WC3 on my MB and it's playable on Bnet but not very smooth or fluid (as it is on my pC)

as for the question about WC3, yes, under bootcamp, i only use paralels for ubuntu and vista.

what settings do i have to use to play guildwars nightfall fluently?
just give me your settings :D

Then it must be Rosetta.

In that case it is rosetta... WC3 isnt universal! under rosetta it plays but really not that good...

has anyone tried Age of Empires III in OS X?

Good to know it runs in Windows, but if it runs just as well in OS X...

aoe III

Age of empires 3 runs extremely well on macbook 2.0 Ghz, 2Gb ram. Played every single version of aoe on various computers through the years and gameplay is perfect on standard settings and max resolution.

 MacBook runs CoD2 much better than my iMac does!!

It seems that this game is very CPU-intensive.

I noticed this earlier too, when I first got my copy of CoD2 - it runs at absolutely the same frame rate at 800x500 everything low and 1440x900 everything Max (except Renderer that was set to medium).
