As inferred here: https://www.reddit.com/r/macbookpro/comments/bdouy8 . Seems that this is an issue with the AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext where igpu is not powered up aggressively. Seems this can be resolved by configuring the BoostPState value in the info.plist file of AppleGraphicsPowerManagement.kext. Have to edit this under the key Mac-E1008331FDC96864 which is the motherboard id of 16 inch mbp. Follow the procedures for kext unloading and loading. Haven’t tried this yet, so cannot confirm. Ideally I will wait for apple to do this.

Can anyone confirm if this is addressed in 10.15.6 Beta (19G60d)? I can report (for now) it's finally fixed here...

Yes, it did for me. The last 2 betas. Now on 10.15.6 Beta (19G71a) and I no longer have this problem since I purchased my MBP.

That's great! This issue is so annoying and unbelievable for such expensive machine. Would you mind sharing your config? Mine is the base i7.

Strange, here my MBP is finally working flawlessly. After dealing with random freezing (automatic graphics switching on) since I bought it.

Mine does this, I find that closing and opening the lid normally unfreezes it, but it's not acceptable for any computer to do this...

I've just got my new machine last Friday and I've been experiencing an annoying issue where the mac seems to "freeze" for split-second and resumes working normally when I'm scrolling on Firefox / Chrome and as a full time iOS Developer this is very clear on the development IDE (Xcode / Simulator) the simulator freezes for an entire second and resumes working again. I've gone through all the steps with Apple Phone Support PRAM Reset / NVRAM Reset / OS Reinstall etc and nothing works -They have rescheduled a call with me this morning- the only option to fix this is if I disable the automatic graphics switching option and make it so that it only uses the dedicated graphics card which is ridiculous.
Does anyone face similar issue ?

Have you taken it into Apple yet? And if so, what have they said?

I live in Egypt we don't have any Apple centers here so my best shot was to contact Apple Support over phone and they don't give a *uck

That's wild. You may want to call Apple customer relations and tell them that you're in Egypt with no options with a malfunctioning 16" MacBook Pro. Apple cares about customer satisfaction with that machine in particular.

Updated to the final 10.15.6 today and I immediately noticed that the UI is way more fluid now. I can barely notice any stuttering when scrolling pages on Chrome or when writing code on Android Studio.

Issue is still there after 10.15.6 update. Way to reproduce the problem -

1.) Make sure you are using integrated intel graphics (use some tool like gfxcardstatus)

2.) The first time you run AppStore after your system is up, move your mouse pointer randomly on the screen. You will notice the stutter. This will not happen again if you quit app store and try this. Restart the machine to reproduce the problem again.

For those whose issue is resolved, did you try a clean install of macOS 10.15.6? Or is it updated from a previous version? If it is updated from another version which version is that?

I fixed it when update to v10.15.6 from v10.15.5

I can return to the normal graphics card switch mode again

Device: MacBook Pro (13-inch, 2019, Two Thunderbolt 3 ports)
Version: 10.15.6 (19G2021)
Still not working. I'm still experiencing the same issues in my work environment (Xcode/Simulator)
I have already talked to 3 advisor, but they did not know how to solve this.
I just experience this issue 2 weeks ago, my macbook freeze and then restart unexpectedly. HELP!

Hey, guys. Are you still experiences the stutter issues? I got my logic board replaced, but the problem persists. I'm on 10.15.7, I've read that some got rid of the problem with 10.15.6, but that's not the case for me.
