I had a bunch of these on my 2021 MBP 16 as well, got a replacement from Apple and when I got it back I installed one of those glass screen protectors and its been almost a year and I dont see anymore of these.

The screen protector only has adhesive on the outer black edge and not in the middle of the screen, so any concerns of the screen protector damaging the screen is out the window, get the glass ones, not the cheap plastic film that has adhesive on the entire film. The glass does add some additional glare to the screen, and since the middle of the screen has no glue, it does have the "rainbow" effect, but you cant see it when looking directly at the screen. Its not a prefect solution, theres pros and cons, but I rather not have a screen with dents and dots on it.
Can I get a link to the brand of screen protector you used please?

Yup, I've had these indentations appear also after roughly 3 months on my '23 M2 MBP. They look like dirt spots initially, appearing out of the blue but careful cleaning reveals them to be indentations. I also had light spotty (scratch?) marks in certain quadrants and underneath the screen's surface. The horizontal marks from the KB also.

I mainly keep the MBP open, have a cloth dedicated to just the screen, wet 70% wipes the Apple Store uses and have an anti-static swiffer I used before closing the lid. So no dust issue in my case and am quite aware to keep physical cleaning direct on the screen to a minimum.

Due to a recent accidental fluid spill the screen was replaced so I'll see how this one goes. This time round I'm using the paper between the KB and screen that it originally shipped with. I was surprised they didn't provide one after the repair itself.

Got one of these dimples as well after a few months on my M3 14". Pretty annoying - the glass coating on these seem to be on the soft side.

I’m experiencing the same issue on my MacBook Pro M3 Pro.

I’m always very careful with my machine. I clean the display using the Apple Polishing Cloth and ensure there’s no debris on it beforehand. I also use the cleaning solution Apple used to offer in their stores, which works exceptionally well.

However, after cleaning, I noticed this small "dent" on the display. You can see it in the pictures—it’s hard to spot, but I can feel it with my fingernail. I plan to visit the Apple Store (I have AppleCare+).

My guess is that something might have gotten between the keyboard and the display. It’s not the first time I’ve had marks appear. Previously, I noticed faint impressions caused by the keyboard. They’re barely visible but still noticeable.

I always keep a retractable lens brush at hand to brush away any dust/debris that I see on the screen or chassis before closing my Macbook.

This seems like a smart move, but I cleaning my MacBook Pro display with Apple polishing cloth everytime before closing would annoy me a lot for such an expensive machine, and now after cleaning with WHOOSH! (the product that Apple used), it's crystal clear but there is that spot that reflect light differently and that I can feel with my nail, will definitely go to the Apple Store to check with them, as it looks like dead pixel.
